Over ten days, seven dedicated volunteers<em>\u2014trained community health agents\u2014<\/em>visited nearly 300 homes, surveying more than <strong>1,400 individuals<\/strong> to better understand how and why malaria continues to thrive in this region.<\/p>\n<p>With support from Rotary International and local authorities, the team used the Kawan Against Malaria <a href=\"https:\/\/fairfuturefoundation.org\/de\/programs-medical-apps\/\">mobile app<\/a> to conduct <strong>300 structured surveys<\/strong>. Each data point was geotagged and recorded in real time<em>\u2014even in areas with weak connectivity\u2014<\/em>thanks to the app\u2019s offline features. This level of precision allows Fair Future Foundation\u2019s medical team to create dynamic risk maps and model the impact of targeted interventions. In fact, <strong>geospatial analysis<\/strong> is crucial in epidemiology, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.datascience.ch\/\">Swiss experts have shown<\/a>, offering insights that guide effective public health responses.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most visible successes of this operation was the distribution of <strong>330 long-lasting insecticidal nets<\/strong> <em>(LLINs)<\/em>, certified under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/teams\/immunization-vaccines-and-biologicals\/essential-programme-on-immunization\/integration\/linking-with-other-health-interventions\/long-lasting-insecticidal-nets-(llins)\">WHO MILDA<\/a> standards. These nets were given to households with the highest vulnerability\u2014children under five, pregnant women, and families living in areas with poor housing conditions or stagnant water sources. Each net represents more than protection; it represents survival. The <strong>implementation of LLINs<\/strong> aligns with global best practices and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swisstph.ch\">Swiss research<\/a>, such as those from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swisstph.ch\">Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute<\/a>, which highlight the effectiveness of integrated vector management in reducing malaria transmission.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But this was not simply a campaign of distribution. It was about empowerment. Volunteers engaged in open conversations with families, explaining how malaria spreads and how to use the nets properly. They also identified key environmental risks around homes, such as uncovered water containers or<strong> inadequate sanitation<\/strong>, which may <strong>accelerate mosquito breeding<\/strong>.
