Imagine isolated villages where infant mortality rates are shocking due to preventable diseases like tuberculosis and malaria, where entire families are destitute because clean drinking water is as scarce as gold. Every kilometre the #TruckOfLife travels in this setting is a life-or-death journey. It costs us just CHF 0.56 per kilometre to operate the #TruckOfLife, but that kilometre represents so much more.

That kilometre might mean access to vital healthcare for a child suffering from polio or the transportation of a tuberculosis patient to a facility where they can receive lifesaving treatment. That kilometre could be the difference between life and death.

We at Fair Future are committed to this humanitarian mission because we know our work saves lives. But we can’t do it alone. Please continue making these kilometres a reality. Your donation, however modest, turns these small coins into hope, life, and the future. I invite you to support the #TruckOfLife. Join this transformative journey, this movement of compassion and lasting change.

Your contribution fuels this extraordinary trek, paving the way for a future where every child can access quality education, every family can drink clean water, and every community can live without the constant threat of infectious diseases. Donating for kilometres is investing in the future of these communities, and it’s an investment whose returns are measured in saved lives, eradicated diseases, and built futures.

Thank you for joining our mission and becoming integral to this remarkable transformation.

Alex Wettstein – Fair Future Foundation medico-social camp in East Sumba – Rumah Kambera, Lambanapu, October 11th, 2023.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text content_last_edited=”off|desktop” admin_label=”Annexe 2 – Quote form Alex” _builder_version=”4.27.5″ _dynamic_attributes=”link_option_url” _module_preset=”default” background_color=”#F6F6F6″ width=”%221280px%22″ height=”%22720px%22″ custom_margin=”3vh||0vh||false|false” custom_padding=”15px|15px|15px|15px|true|true” link_option_url=”@ET-DC@eyJkeW5hbWljIjp0cnVlLCJjb250ZW50IjoicG9zdF9saW5rX3VybF9wYWdlIiwic2V0dGluZ3MiOnsicG9zdF9pZCI6IjM4NjQyMiJ9fQ==@” border_color_left=”#4267B2″ border_width_left_tablet=”5px” border_width_left_phone=”2px” border_width_left_last_edited=”off|desktop” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content” hover_enabled=”0″ sticky_enabled=”0″]

A single kilometer traveled by our #TruckOfLife can mean the difference between life and death for someone in a remote village. This isn’t just a vehicle; it’s an extension of the Fair Future Foundation’s mission to bring critical medical and social aid to communities left behind by time and circumstance.

Navigating the intricate web of deteriorating roads, arduous weather conditions, and societal challenges, the Truck of Life accomplishes something extraordinary. With just CHF 0.56 per kilometre, it takes us to places even mapmakers have yet to reach. Its wheels roll through rugged terrains to deliver life-saving medications for malaria, tuberculosis, and other infectious diseases that prey on vulnerable populations. But the truck’s purpose transcends mere transportation of medical supplies; it’s a lifeline for people in isolation, a rolling hospital where basic medical facilities are a luxury. Embedded within the vehicle are dedicated medical teams equipped to administer primary medical check-ups, vaccinations, maternal and child health services, and essential treatments for common illnesses.

Through the Primary Medical Care Program (PMC), we ensure that the Truck of Life becomes a cornerstone for healthcare access. It’s not just about reaching these communities; it’s about engaging with them, sharing knowledge, and empowering people with health education and preventive measures against diseases. The essence of the Truck of Life lies in its adaptability and intimacy with the community. Working closely with local stakeholders, including Kawan Baik and the local health workers, we become community builders, not just medical professionals. We engage in community outreach programs, conduct educational sessions, and actively involve local actors to cultivate an ecosystem of well-being. This truck is a catalyst for transformative change, not just in healthcare but in the quality of life in the ultra-rural landscapes of Sumba.

Sustainability is at the core of the Truck of Life’s operation. Long-term plans for maintenance, repairs, and replenishment of supplies are carefully mapped out to ensure this initiative remains functional and impactful for years to come. Your support for the Truck of Life is an investment in human dignity and fairness, as well as in eradicating the vast disparities that mark these regions. By fueling this journey with your contributions, you’re not just donating, but becoming part of a larger narrative, a movement that defies limitations and shatters boundaries.

With careful planning, deep-rooted community involvement, and unwavering commitment to sustainability, the Truck of Life isn’t just a Fair Future Foundation initiative.
