Pak Kudu Huring is featured again in this new “Photo of the Day,” showing him building a 5,000-liter ferro-cement tank to supply his village with drinking water. The Water Connections initiative aims to develop and improve infrastructure to provide access to high-quality, uncontaminated water that supports healthy living. The genuine life-changing water projects initiative focuses on creating large reservoirs that store pure underground spring water or filtered rainwater during wet seasons to ensure sustainable supply solutions.

The image depicts Pak Kudu Huring working with our team to build ferro-cement tanks. Previously, I mentioned that he had to travel a long distance to collect unclean water in his jerrycans. Still, thanks to the Water Connections programs of Fair Future and Kawan Baik Foundation, he now has the tools and knowledge to build such infrastructure.

Access to clean water helps prevent infectious diseases and allows families like Pak Kudu Huring to focus on essential aspects of life, such as combating malnutrition. With clean water and sanitation facilities, they can now prioritize cultivating vegetable gardens for a diversified and healthy diet, thanks to the nutritional consumption teachings of Fair Future. Improved nutritional quality has led to impressive results, with families growing fruits, vegetables, and other crops to improve their health and increase disease resistance.

The Water Connections project isn’t just about water—it’s about transforming lives. We’re improving health, boosting nutrition, and creating a brighter future for ultra-rural communities.” — Alex Wettstein, CEO and Founder of Fair Future

Our programs have significantly impacted villages like Laindatang, improving residents’ lives through clean water, community gardens, and nutrition awareness. Children are healthier and attend school regularly, while adults are able to work diligently and actively participate in their village’s economic life.

In essence, the Water Connections project is about more than just providing clean water; it lays the foundation for an improved, prosperous, and healthy future, not only on an individual level but also within entire communities!

Fair Future Foundation medico-social camp in East Sumba – Rumah Kambera, Lambanapu – The 15th of July 2024.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_button button_url=”@ET-DC@eyJkeW5hbWljIjp0cnVlLCJjb250ZW50IjoicG9zdF9saW5rX3VybF9wb3N0Iiwic2V0dGluZ3MiOnsicG9zdF9pZCI6IjM5MzM5NCJ9fQ==@” button_text=”Umbu Kudu Huring look for Clean Water” admin_label=”5.
