This new “Picture of the Day<\/a>” beautifully captures a moment of laughter and connection as women from rural villages<\/a> in eastern Indonesia gather around the Kawan Sehat Book<\/a>, a guide to healthy living. Created by Fair Future<\/a> and Kawan Baik<\/a> Foundations two years ago, this invaluable resource has been widely distributed to ultra-rural villages and schools in East Sumba.<\/p>\n The Kawan Sehat book<\/a> aims to educate children and adults. Teachers use it as a tool to teach young children how to protect themselves from common health problems<\/a>. Parents and caregivers gain knowledge about practical habits for leading healthier lives, such as proper washing techniques, dental care, keeping nails and hair clean, and maintaining a hygienic home environment.
