They came seeking care that is increasingly rare in this part of the world. Our teams worked diligently, <strong>prescribing and dispensing essential medications<\/strong>, often the <strong>only ones available<\/strong> in a region where healthcare centres struggle to meet basic health needs.<\/p>\n<p>Besides consultations, a <strong>rapid malaria test<\/strong> was offered, highlighting the health challenges we face, while over <strong>100 people underwent blood sugar screenings<\/strong>, revealing their glucose levels. For each, <strong>appropriate treatments<\/strong> were given, underscoring the urgency and significance of our mission. This initiative was part of the broader context of the <strong>Sunday mass<\/strong>, a moment of spiritual gathering that strengthened the bond between medical care and community support. The merging of <strong>faith and humanitarian commitment<\/strong> provided comfort to those who struggle daily for quality care.<\/p>\n<p>The medication shortage is not just a hurdle; it poses a <strong>direct threat to the lives and well-being<\/strong> of East Sumba&#8217;s residents. Our stocks, though carefully managed, are <strong>far from inexhaustible<\/strong>.
