Fair Future<\/a> and Kawan Baik<\/a> Foundations are pleased to present the Primary Medical Care<\/a> (PMC)<\/em> Program Progress Report<\/a>, covering the period from August to November 2024<\/strong>. This initiative provides practical and sustainable solutions to ensure that Primary Medical Care<\/a> reaches thousands of people in ultra-rural areas where medical infrastructure is minimal or non-existent. Now in its third year, the programme<\/a> has established itself as a fundamental part of public health in remote villages.<\/p>\n PMC<\/a> is dedicated to providing essential healthcare to all those who do not have<\/a> access to healthcare, including children, pregnant women, the elderly, people with chronic diseases, and other vulnerable populations. Thanks to the rapid interventions of Kawan Sehat<\/a> health workers, many serious injuries and illnesses have been treated promptly, preventing life-threatening consequences. The programme<\/a> also addresses infectious diseases such as malaria<\/a> and tuberculosis<\/a>, as well as waterborne diseases<\/a>, while also addressing acute and chronic health issues.<\/p>\n The\u00a0Kawan Sehat app<\/a> is a critical medical resource, allowing health workers in remote villages to share cases treated and access real-time medical guidelines, treatment protocols, and patient tracking capabilities. This Innovative and Unique App (100% developed by us)<\/em> enhances their efficiency and responsiveness in the field while facilitating seamless communication with the coordination team.<\/p>\n Our team provides ongoing support to Kawan Sehat<\/a> workers, with Erwin<\/a>, our field coordinator, leading the efforts on the ground. Every week, Erwin<\/a> travels to villages on his dedicated scooter<\/a> to answer workers\u2019 questions, replenish medicines and medical supplies, and collect field reports. This ongoing support allows workers to operate independently while knowing they have reliable resources.<\/p>\n Medical Backpacks: How Kawan Sehat Health Workers Bring Life-Saving Resources to Thousands in Regions Without Access to Care.<\/p><\/div>\n Each health worker<\/a> carries a custom-made medical backpack<\/a>, designed by Fair Futur<\/a>e and Kawan Baik<\/a> and expertly crafted from recycled materials by an artisan in Java. The backpacks are stocked with all the essentials for emergency care and routine medical procedures\u2014over a hundred items. In addition, hundreds of educational posters<\/a> have been distributed to villages, schools, and community centres to promote awareness of hygiene<\/a>, nutrition, infectious disease<\/a> prevention, and healthy living<\/a> practices.<\/p>\n The book “Kawan Sehat”<\/a> is vital to the Fair Future Foundation’s mission<\/a> to empower ultra-rural communities through education and health awareness<\/a>. This guide<\/a> covers hygiene, nutrition, disease prevention, and first aid tailored for remote areas. Designed to be accessible, it helps health agents educate families and communities about healthier lifestyles. With regular updates<\/a>, it remains a key resource<\/strong> in our commitment to sustainable solutions for those in need.<\/p>\n Our health workers<\/a> play a vital role in transforming communities through education. They conduct interactive sessions<\/a> to share essential knowledge with families<\/a> about hygiene, disease prevention<\/a>, and the benefits of a balanced diet. These sessions take place in schools, community centres, or outdoor spaces to improve accessibility.<\/p>\n These women<\/a> build trust and engagement by adapting their strategies to cultural norms and local needs, motivating healthier lifestyles. Their work addresses immediate health concerns while promoting long-term habits<\/a> that reduce disease prevalence<\/a>, improve well-being, and empower<\/a> individuals to manage their health.<\/p>\n This Primary Medical Care Educational Aspect<\/a> is essential for breaking cycles of poor health and promoting sustainable lifestyles for future generations.<\/p>\n Photos Taken by Kawan Sehat Agents Show the Critical Role They Play in Delivering Medical Care Where No Healthcare Exists.<\/p><\/div>\n A Monumental Impact<\/p>\n Launched in December 2022<\/strong>, this program has saved numerous lives and enhanced the quality of life for countless families while establishing a strong base for sustainable community health.\u00a0Primary Medical Care<\/a> has demonstrated its effectiveness within the last four months\u00a0<\/span>by delivering tangible solutions to complex health challenges, transforming conditions in previously neglected villages.<\/p>\n This initiative strategically tackles the fundamental health challenges<\/a> experienced by rural and underserved populations.\u00a0The program has notably\u00a0decreased mortality<\/strong> rates and improved chronic illness management by deploying “mobile clinics” and enhancing the availability of vital medical supplies<\/a> along with trained Women, the Kawan Sehat Health Agents.<\/a><\/span>\u00a0“Healthcare access should be a right for all, irrespective of geographic or economic status,<\/em>” isn’t it?<\/p>\n From August to November 2024, we have allocated IDR 391 million<\/strong> (CHF 22,000)<\/em> to support this crucial programme<\/a>. This investment covered expenses related to the purchase of medicines, logistics management, training<\/a> of health workers, and the improvement of the Kawan Sehat app. In January 2025, we will donate an additional IDR 415 million<\/strong> (CHF 23,150)<\/em> dedicated to expanding activities and reaching new communities.<\/p>\n This initiative<\/a> depends on continued support to maintain the supply of medicines, medical equipment, training programmes<\/a>, and logistics operations. By 2025, we plan to expand these efforts further to save more lives.
