Our team is featured in the latest \u00a0“Photo of the Day,<\/strong>“<\/a> which shows how they train Kawan Sehat health workers<\/strong> to measure blood pressure<\/strong> as part of the primary medical care<\/a> program<\/strong>. The photo shows Kawan<\/a> Ino<\/strong>, one of the Foundation’s field coordinators, having his blood pressure<\/a> taken by a health worker.<\/p>\n The importance of primary medical care<\/strong><\/a> in rural areas<\/strong> cannot be overstated. Access to medical assistance<\/strong> in these regions is rare, leading to infrequent basic procedures such as blood pressure<\/a> measurement. Failure to manage and treat high blood pressure<\/strong> can lead to severe consequences such as stroke, brain haemorrhage and paralysis.<\/p>\n In cases of high blood pressure<\/a>, Kawan Sehat’s<\/a> trained health workers can administer essential medications<\/strong> and offer valuable advice on blood pressure management<\/strong>. They will also guide patients to the nearest, often distant, medical facility.<\/p>\n Uncontrolled high blood pressure<\/a> poses serious risks, such as damage to arteries and vital organs<\/strong> over time without showing symptoms, which can lead to life-threatening<\/strong> complications. The lack of regular medical care<\/strong> and essential diagnostic equipment exacerbates these risks in our operating areas.<\/p>\n Primary medical<\/a> actions are the cornerstone of our efforts in rural areas.
