Prompt Action Restores Mbinudita’s Critical Water Pump, Ensuring Daily Clean Water for More Than 2,500 Residents
A swift response team from Fair Future fixed the crucial water pump in Mbinudita, guaranteeing continuous access to clean water for this extremely rural community.
In Mbinudita, a village where water sustains more than 2,500 inhabitants, the Water Connections project has stood as a symbol of resilience and health. Over years of work by Fair Future, this network was developed with two deep wells, 30 reservoirs, and 20 sanitation stations to ensure continuous access to clean water. However, last week brought an unexpected challenge when the submersible pump from one of these original wells malfunctioned due to an electrical short circuit—threatening the community’s vital water supply.
Aware of the urgency, our team sprang into action without delay. We were on-site to evaluate and fix the system issues in a matter of hours. Extracting the submerged from 50 meters below was challenging but necessary. After assessing the damage, we meticulously disconnected burnt-out cables and resolved an electrical problem that had compromised its function. During repairs, an auxiliary pump was installed to ensure continuous water supply for the community’s needs during this critical period.
A pump with this capacity, capable of extracting water from significant depths, is essential and costly but represents a vital investment in Mbinudita’s health and sustainability. Due to the dedication and swift action of the Fair Future and Kawan Baik teams, we completed repairs within two days. This work restored access to clean water, reaffirming our commitment to sustainable solutions and quick response times.
In addition to offering immediate relief, this experience has deepened our connection with the community, showing that we are committed to supporting them during any crisis. The residents of Mbinudita witnessed firsthand the dedication fueling our mission to guarantee a steady flow of water—essential for health and life.
