The 1st toilets of the village are almost finished<\/h4>\n

The involvement of the FFF teams and the villagers in the construction of the first healthy sanitary installations in the history of this village of more than 2,500 inhabitants is fabulous!<\/p>\n

The Water Connections project<\/a> is progressing exceptionally well, and we are close to the goal after more than twelve months of on-site work.<\/p>\n

The foundation and several sanitary facilities have built more than ten 6,500 litre<\/strong> clean water tanks. The clean water comes from a deep borehole we drilled more than 350 meters <\/strong>below the school we made last October. It is a performance that defies the laws of gravity to have succeeded in pumping water to our school and then distributing it over more than five hectares<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

All installations are also already connected by more than 5,000 meters<\/strong> of flexible PVC pipes, which bind all the structures. These more than 5 km of lines are buried. These facilities improve the lives and health of these thousands of villagers, especially the young children who comprise nearly 65%<\/strong> \u200b\u200bof the inhabitants here in East Sumba. We can see the impact on the villagers’ health and well-being. But also on their economy because water can generate income.<\/p>\n

Today and after more than a year of work in the field, Fair Future<\/a> and Kawan Baik Indonesia<\/a> Foundations still have eight<\/strong> sanitation facilities to build, and we have already started the 2nd installation. The others will follow one after the other.<\/p>\n

It takes about three weeks of intensive work – starting from a virgin site –<\/em> until you can use the toilets and other facilities included in each sanitary installation. The builders are the teams of Fair Future<\/a> and Kawan Baik<\/a> on the ground and the villagers who build their structure in the joy, the good mood, the laughter and the coffees made thanks to the clean water we provided to the village.<\/p>\n

We have already explained it to you, but it is a question of giving access to showers, toilets by gender, a point for washing clothes, the collection of drinking water and watering (recycling wastewater by using natural filters)<\/em> to more than 2,500<\/strong> villagers.<\/p>\n

These latest installations will be financed by the high-tech company Vivo\u00a9<\/a>, which we thank wholeheartedly.<\/p>\n
