Participate in the drilling of a well, dedicated to 40 families, 250 people!

May 19, 2021

Dear friends, dear families,

As you know, Fair Future, Kawan Baik Foundations, and the Indonesian Red Cross are starting a “post-emergency” program, linked to access to clean water. To begin with, and in the next 10 days, we will start a pilot project that aims to provide clean water to nearly 40 families, or more than 250 people, a good third of whom are children.

This project is detailed in the .PDF document that you can download here. This presentation explains why, how, and the costs of construction, drilling, and equipment of this “water point”.

In a previous News, we explained the operation to you in detail. A vital step for the more than 250 people who have been living since the start of the disaster that hit Sumba East in early April.

This operation is carried out jointly with the Indonesian Red Cross, but they have no funds to carry out water access operations. From then on, Fair Future and Kawan Baik Indonesia joined them and decided to finance the entire project. The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI – Palang Merah Indonesia) has evaluated the disaster and the needs of the victims. The PMI sent us a request for assistance relating to this project, namely the construction of drinking water facilities in the form of drilled wells and sanitary solutions.

We, therefore, appeal to your generosity, your big heart to help us build some of these wells, boreholes aimed at ensuring that people have access to clean water. You can also make a donation via a bank transfer, the details of our accounts in Switzerland are here. To donate online, you can click here.

Note that the construction operations will be carried out as usual by the Fair Future team, which is physically present on the site, as part of the socio-medico-educational actions of our local Base Camp, Rumah Kambera.

The Fair Future Foundation team, who wrote this news, directly from what is the largest medical and social camp in the eastern region of Indonesia (NTT), the home of Fair Future and Kawan Baik Indonesia, who is called “Rumah Kambera“, house of Kambera, named after the village that welcomes us, in the heart of the area most devastated by this disaster.

Thank you very much for helping us help them. Water is one of the problems, meanwhile, Fair Future and its medical teams on site need medicines, medical supplies, food… Don’t forget us, don’t forget them!

Construction process of the first Central Water Points

Carrying out such projects seem trivial. Water is a matter that we generally popularise. And yet, here in rural areas of eastern Indonesia, it is a real challenge. Therefore, here is a document that presents the process of building the first Central Water Points, which Fair Future is building,
