02 / INFORMATION
What information may we receive?
What we receive depends on how you use the website. Information you provide in a form or by email may include your name, contact details, organisation, country, message and any attachments you choose to send.
- Messages and applications: the details you submit when contacting us, proposing an idea or applying to volunteer.
- Donations: donor contact details and information about the contribution. The payment provider processes the information needed to carry out the payment.
- Newsletter: your email address, subscription preferences and information connected with managing your subscription.
- Testimonies: the message, attribution and publication preferences you provide. A submission and permission to publish an excerpt are separate choices.
- Website use: technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, requested pages and cookie or consent preferences. Analytics and embedded services may process additional usage information.
Please only send information relevant to your request. This website is not a channel for urgent medical assistance.
03 / PURPOSES
Why we use this information
We use information to respond to messages, assess applications, administer donations and related records, manage subscriptions, review feedback and maintain the website. Website statistics help us understand which information visitors use; technical logs help keep the service working and investigate problems or misuse.
If you subscribe to the newsletter, you can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter or by contacting us. If you give permission for a testimony to be published, the agreed attribution or anonymised excerpt may appear publicly on the website.
Where processing relies on your consent, you can withdraw that consent. Some records may still need to be kept for another applicable purpose, such as accounting or handling a request.
04 / SERVICE PROVIDERS
Who else may process information?
Our website relies on service providers for hosting, security, email delivery, payments, analytics and embedded content. They may process information needed to provide their services. Hosting is provided by Infomaniak; Cloudflare supports website delivery and protection. Donations may involve the payment service selected in the donation flow, including Stripe, PayPal or RaiseNow.
The site’s privacy configuration identifies Google Analytics for audience statistics and services such as YouTube and Google Maps for embedded content. Microsoft Clarity is also installed for analysing website use. Social media content or links may involve the relevant platform when you interact with them. The Politica sui cookie describes cookies and provides the consent controls.
Some providers operate internationally, and information may be processed outside Switzerland, including in the United States. The provider and destination depend on the service used. Contact us for information about a particular processing activity or transfer.
When you follow an external link, make a payment on a provider’s platform or contact us through a social platform, that service’s own privacy notice also applies.
05 / STORAGE
Retention and security
Retention depends on the purpose of the record. Correspondence is assessed in relation to the request and follow-up; donation records are assessed against accounting and legal requirements; newsletter records are connected to subscription management. Consent records and technical logs have their own operational purposes.
There is no single retention period for every kind of information. You may ask us about the period or criteria applying to your information, and request deletion where applicable. Cookie storage periods are shown in the cookie inventory.
Access controls, website security services and backups support the protection of information. No internet service can promise absolute security. If you believe information has been exposed or sent in error, contact our team promptly.
06 / YOUR CHOICES
Access, correction and other requests
You can ask whether we process personal information about you and request access to it. You can ask us to correct inaccurate information and, where applicable, delete it, restrict its use, object to processing or provide it in a transferable format. The rights and any exceptions depend on the law that applies to the activity.
Send your request to [email protected]. Explain what you want us to check. We may need sufficient information to identify the relevant records and verify that the request comes from you.
For cookies, use the preferences on the Cookie Policy page. For a newsletter, use the unsubscribe link. You may also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner or the competent authority where you live.
07 / UPDATES
Changes to this policy
This policy may be revised when our website, services or information practices change. The published version should be read alongside the information provided in the form or service you use. Visiting the website does not by itself amount to consent to every use of personal information.
