Kawan Sehat Agenti sanitari nell'East Sumba
Kawan Sehat agents live in the communities they serve. Trained, equipped and connected to our medical team, they bring first-contact care, prevention, follow-up and health education closer to families who may live hours from a clinic.

First-contact care and a direct link to the Primary Medical Care team.
Care closer to where people live
Agents provide first-contact care within the limits of their training, help with wound care and common health problems, share prevention messages, document cases and follow people who need continued attention.
They are connected to the Primary Medical Care team. When symptoms are serious, unclear or beyond their role, doctors and nurses can be contacted for advice and referral. This connection is what turns a medical bag and basic training into a continuing chain of care.
From first contact to medical referral
In the village
Kawan Sehat agents are often teachers, Posyandu cadres or trusted community members. Because they are already present, health concerns can be noticed earlier and families have someone nearby to ask for help.
Prevention and health education are part of the same role: malaria, hygiene, nutrition, wound care, maternal and child health, and the recognition of warning signs.
Connected to the medical team
The agents do not replace doctors or clinics. They extend the reach of primary care. Cases can be discussed with our nurses and physicians, medicines and supplies can be replenished, and patients can be referred when more advanced care is necessary.
