Rumah Kambera electricity connection
A few weeks ago, electricity reached the site of the future Rumah Kambera Community Socio-Medical Centre in Kawangu, East Sumba. The meter in this photograph is fitted inside our lopo, the small shelter we use while working on the land. The Rumah Kambera electricity connection now provides 2,200 watts.
That is enough for basic work on the site and for light in the evening when we sleep there. We can use the tools needed for simple tasks and see what we are doing after sunset. It is a modest supply, but having power available on the land removes a daily obstacle while construction continues.
This is a practical step in building the centre. Fair Future Foundation e Kawan Baik Indonesia are preparing a place for care, training, and medical logistics to support work across rural East Sumba. We are grateful to everyone who helped bring electricity to the site.
