Preparing Community Medical Care
Five community medical care days are being prepared with Kawan Sehat health agents and Fair Future Foundation teams in East Sumba. The photograph shows a teammate sorting supplies for the work ahead. The next care day is scheduled for 3 October; further details will follow.
Each day will bring consultations, treatment and medicines closer to people, alongside practical health education. Doctors, nurses, supervisors and educators will work with local health agents, using posters and conversations to make prevention part of the visit. The five planned days are expected to reach several hundred patients.
We will talk about handwashing, healthier meals and adding a green vegetable when available. These messages must be clear and realistic in each community. Preparing staff, medicines and teaching materials is part of delivering care safely and respectfully.
