I cartelloni informativi sulla prevenzione sanitaria portano l'educazione sull'HIV e sui rifiuti Waingapu
This new Picture of the Day shows two health prevention billboards outside Puskesmas Waingapu, East Sumba. A person stands facing the HIV poster beside a second panel about waste. Installed alongside our sepsis study, these messages put prevention in public view, where people can stop, read and ask a health worker for advice.
Understanding health prevention billboards
About twenty panels, three metres high, are planned across Waingapu for months. They follow malaria campaigns.
Il HIV message encourages testing and explains transmission. HIV can be silent for years. Confidential testing connects people with treatment. Hugs and shared meals do not transmit HIV.
Il waste panel explains sorting and pollution. Unsafe disposal can contaminate water and soil. Burning mixed waste harms respiratory health. Education must be matched by collection and safe disposal.
Fair Future Foundation and Kawan Baik Indonesia carry out this campaign with Rotary Australia and Lab Without Walls. Thank you for supporting these health prevention billboards.
People already stop and read. Health outcomes remain unmeasured. Information must lead to care and action.
