Gesundheitsbildung in Laihiru verbindet Kawan Sehat Schulung mit den jüngsten Lernenden
Dieses neue Foto des Tages shows children and adults beside fabric health posters in Laihiru, East Sumba. A village resident took it on 11 September 2026 with an older phone. This moment of rural health education brings our training into village life, where young learners begin to understand how to care for their health.
A chain of rural health education
Since 2022, Primary Medical Care has linked medical training with care in remote communities. With Kawan Baik Indonesia, we train and support 25 Kawan Sehat agents to recognise health risks, provide care within their role and explain when medical attention is needed.
Knowledge must travel beyond the training room. Our courses become practical explanations, supported by around ten fabric posters. Carried between villages, these illustrated tools help agents discuss hygiene, nutrition and malaria prevention through questions, repetition and familiar examples.
Knowledge that can be shared
This chain of rural health education connects our medical team, local agents and families. A child who understands a prevention message can share it at home. An adult who recognises a warning sign may seek help earlier. Learning needs to fit people’s age, language and daily constraints.
These children will grow up making decisions for themselves and others. Giving them understandable health knowledge is part of caring for that future. Thank you to the agents who share it.
