Work is in full swing at Rumah Kambera, East Sumba, where we are preparing a three-day training session for dozens of Kawan Sehat health agents. Around 50 people, including doctors and nurses, will gather to learn how to provide life-saving care in regions with no medical resources. This is a unique, life-saving program.
Il gruppo Truck of Life è arrivato a East Sumba Rumah Kambera, nel distretto di Sumbawa orientale, dopo tre giorni di viaggio, trasportando forniture mediche, materiale didattico e medicine per gli operatori Kawan Sehat sanitari. Questo equipaggiamento aiuterà a prendersi cura di decine di migliaia di persone in aree remote prive di servizi sanitari. Grazie per aver reso possibile tutto ciò!
We’ve created dozens of recycled-material bags, marked with the Red Cross logo, to carry life-saving medical supplies for Kawan Sehat health agents. These bags, filled with medicines, disinfectants, and medical tools, will be loaded onto the Truck of Life as we begin the third year of our #PrimaryMedicalCare program in East Sumba.
Abbiamo completato due giorni di studi sul progetto nel villagio ultra-rurale di Lapinu and speriamo di avviare un Water Connections programma di sei mesi nel gennaio 2025. For years, we’ve dreamed of bringing a solution to Lapinu, a remote village with no roads, water, electricity, or sanitation. Home to 30 families and 100 children, we are working on a Water Connections project with our international partners, planned for early next year. Stay tuned for updates!
We are excited to welcome Erwin Umbu Dangu Ela, known as “Erwin,” as the new coordinator of the #PrimaryMedicalCare program. Erwin will oversee all activities, ensure smooth implementation on the ground, and support Kawan Sehat agents. A long-time volunteer since 2019, we’re thrilled to offer him this opportunity.
Kawan Sehat is expanding! We’re excited to introduce a new page in our children’s book promoting healthy living. This new section focuses on the dangers of smoking, especially secondhand smoke, which harms non-smokers, including children. This new page will be added to our Kawan Sehat book. Smoking is not healthy—smoking kills. Don’t smoke.
We’ve received the latest batch of pharmaceuticals, disinfectants, bandages, and medical equipment—hundreds of kilos worth—used in our #PrimaryMedicalCare program and infectious disease prevention efforts, especially malaria. More supplies are on the way. Thank you for helping us continue this vital work in East Indonesia.
In collaborazione con i nostri partner di Rotary International, abbiamo stampato migliaia di poster che promuovono uno stile di vita sano e la prevenzione delle malattie nelle regioni dove malattie come la malaria sono endemiche. Questi poster, disponibili in formato laminato e tessuto, saranno distribuiti in aree ultra-rurali, nelle scuole, nei centri medici e negli spazi pubblici.
