November 2022 - The loading of the "Truck of Life" for a 100% medical mission in East Sumba is underway, you can participate too!
In rural eastern Indonesia, families have no access to primary medical care. When a medical emergency occurs, everything becomes very complicated and the risks are immense.

In this image, Alex tends to a foot injury of a 10-year-old child. The risks of infections are very high and can lead to the death of a child or an adult if it worsens. Obtaining any medical treatment is a real challenge for an injured or sick person when you live far from everything, with no money, no means of transport and no road leading to the village.

The emergency medical care access program for children in ultra-rural areas of eastern Indonesia is continuing and will move into the 2nd phase in early December 2022.

To be able to move forward, two team members from Fair Future and Kawan Baik will leave by road at the end of November to join our medico-social base camp in East Sumba and the medical teams already in place in Rumah Kambera. A five-day trip with the "Truck of Life", loaded with several hundred kilos of medical equipment.

Hello Kawan {name}, how are you today? Our teams are preparing for the upcoming departure of our socio-medical truck, the Truck of Life. The latter will go far and long to continue this essential program for Fair Future.

Provide access to primary medical care for children in ultra-rural and peripheral areas of eastern Indonesia. This is via school teachers who follow four-day training modules and, of course, the book that we have produced for the attention of both children and teachers of these ultra-rural schools. How to access a healthier life in simple-to-understand images.

It is indeed at the end of this month of November that we planned to leave for Rumah Kambera, East Sumba, as soon as we have finished what we can call "a huge preparation", believe me.

It will be a long trip that we have done before. We are a little forced to take the road because the "Kapal Egon", the colossal ferry we regularly use from Lembar - Lombok to Waingapu - East Sumba, is unavailable for a few weeks. And we can't wait any longer. We will therefore leave as we already did in 2021 by road.

Here, I wish you a good reading of this newsletter Kawan {name}

Help us load the medical truck as much as possible for its next trip - Leaving at the end of November 2022

14/11/2022

What are the foundation's urgent needs right now?

As part of the project for access to primary medical care for children in rural areas of eastern Indonesia, the foundation needs you to balance the budget. Especially the one who will help us transport and bring all the material to our medico-social base camp in Sumba East. We want to be able to load our medical truck as much as possible to reduce logistics costs.

The latter will carry nearly a ton of medical equipment, medicines, sterile equipment, first aid to treat injuries and all the educational material we have prepared, including the book we have produced. Friends, we are missing a lot of material to complete the more than 60 first aid kits (boxes), one per school. Each school has between 100 and 200 children.

Find out what we are missing here and what you can do to help them.

You can follow us via this interactive map that we will update live. Along the way, we'll post regular updates on where we are, who we meet, and with whom we'll share moments in their lives.

This is also to see how it happens in other regions and share touching, funny moments with you. Also, talk about the cultures and traditions practised in the immensity areas of Sumbawa, Lombok, and Flores. All you have to do is click on the image and its description to understand the life of the "Truck of Life" and the encounters it will have during these few days on the road.

We look forward to sharing these moments with all of you, friends.

The latest article(s) published on Fair Future.

In connection with the foundation's primary mission, which is to find solutions to improve families' health and living conditions, here is the latest news from the foundation and our work in the most isolated and ultra-peripheral regions.

Where we are, almost no roads lead, electricity is scarce, and internet connections are pure theory. Water, medical care, food, and so many things are missing, but we are changing that with all of you.

Consuming dirty, unsanitary and dangerous water? Here's what it might look like.

In these few images taken at the end of October 2022, in a village in East Sumba, more than a hundred people have access to this unique water source. A well dug by hand more than ten years ago is almost always dry. People have to queue to get a few litres of water that is undrinkable and dangerous to their health. But that is changing for them!

The Truck of Life is an essential element of our on-site interventions – It allows us to go where no one goes!

Without the Truck of Life, it would become very complicated, if not impossible, to move around the sites where we have actions and projects in progress. Indeed, no road, just rutted paths where a standard vehicle, even a scooter, cannot pass. He brings something to eat, drink, and take care of and allows the foundation to meet the people there.
