Hello {name}, once again we are happy to send you information about our work.
One of two original publications, produced by Fair Future and aimed at children in rural areas of eastern Indonesia.

We wish you all a wonderful year 2023, happiness and, above all, good health.

We couldn't write to you before kawan {name} because we were very - if not too - busy in the field or on the road with the Truck of Life at the end of last December. And during the holiday season, we were in East Sumba working on three socio-medical projects. But we thought very strongly of you and all of you.

In this photo, the book "Kawan Sehat" was distributed to more than sixty teachers who participated in the training for the primary medical care program in rural areas.

This innovative book will be an educational tool to teach nearly 1,000 children in these regions how to access a better and healthier life. In contrast, their life is combined daily without water, toilets, electricity, medical care, road, soaps, shoe, toothbrush, comb, healthy food etc...

This book will help them learn simple gestures so everyone can access a healthier life.

In addition, you can download the two books in .PDF format, which we use during teacher training in primary medical care, a little further down in this newsletter.

The primary medical care program is going exceptionally well. He has already saved lives.

Warmest greetings to all of you dear friends,

As you may have read, last December, we left with the Truck of Life (the foundation's medical truck), bringing more than one ton of books, publications and medical equipment related to this vital program for tens of thousands of people.

The first two training modules for rural school teachers took place the second week of December. It was a considerable success since more than sixty teachers were present for this first session. The regent of Sumba (Bupati) also visited us with his wife.

You can take a look at two galleries of images related to these formations, which we have published here: Galery #1Galery #2.

Empowerment of women from rural areas

One aspect that we had not taken into account before the beginning of these theoretical and practical training days on "how to give primary medical care in case of emergencies" is related to the fact that 95% of the participants are women.

Consequently, this new responsibility we have entrusted to them is a real recognition and gives them a level of confidence unknown to them until now.

...and suddenly, a lot of things changed for them!

This program is now also a means of empowering women in these regions. Because they are the ones who today, and perhaps for the first time in the world1, are genuinely responsible for providing first aid in their communities.

It is something essential and gratifying for them.

We all feel that very strongly here on the sites.

1. We think this program is unique in the world, yes. It is, in our opinion, the first time that an NGO -with the approval of the local authorities- gives responsibility to women, and teachers from the most isolated and poor regions, but also the most rural of Indonesia, from Asia, to provide primary and/or emergency medical care to a child or an adult in their community or village.

Today we can say that it is a total success. Lives have been saved, and Fair FutureKawan Baik, the regions of Sumba Timur, and the departments concerned have the will to continue on this path.

Soixante enseignantes de Sumba Est, vivant et travaillant des les villages les plus ruraux qui soient, reçoivent chacune une pharmacie contenant tous le matériel nécessaires pour donner les premiers soins.

The most important thing for us is to be able to continue to exist

We are facing a significant shortage of drugs and medical equipment for our on-site care access programs. Our medical teams are out of medicine, and it's heartbreaking. We need to find ways to buy more to continue caring for sick families and children in the most rural areas of eastern Indonesia.

Our stocks of medicines are almost finished. We have almost nothing left, and the foundation cannot afford to obtain or buy more. We have been overwhelmed by the number of patients for several weeks, and the requests for drugs, other vitamins, and food supplements are enormous.

For example, during a single day of medical care in a village, one can sometimes donate almost a hundred kilos of medicines, vitamins, food supplements or other medical treatments.

And because local communities need medical care – and no one else from our two humanitarian organizations takes care of it – the donations and uses of medical equipment and medicines are immense1.

1. We are talking in tons each year and tens of thousands of francs, and this is only for medicines, and drugs.
I let you read the full article related to our drug needs below

What types and kinds of drugs and nursing materials do we need to continue?

To make it simple and short, we urgently need a lot of medicines (see the list attached to this article) and sanitary materials such as antiseptic solutions, bandages and other small miscellaneous materials. Our stocks are nearly sold out as we have prescribed or used everything, which is a good thing. On the other hand and from tomorrow, we can no longer treat patients except for simple problems that do not require medical treatment.

In connection with the primary mission of the foundation -which is to find solutions to improve the health and living conditions of families- here is the latest article(s) about the news of the foundation and our work in the eastern regions of this immense country of nearly 400 million inhabitants, the 4th largest in the world; Eh yes!

Where we are, hardly any roads lead, electricity is very scarce, and internet connection is pure theory. Clean water, access to medical care, food, soap, toothpaste, clothes, shoes, and so many things are missing. But with you, Kawan {name}, we are doing everything to change that.

Training in primary medical care for teachers from ultra-rural and isolated villages.

Whether a minor skin injury or a severe life-threatening injury, all types of damage should be treated with first aid on the spot without delay, as it may save a life or a limb. Teachers in the poorest and most rural areas learn it with Fair Future's medical teams.

Kawan {name}, that's why your donation means so much.

For fifteen years, Fair Future and all its friends have been providing social, medical, infrastructural and educational assistance to populations whose life and health are threatened by diseases (malaria, tuberculosis, dengue, etc.), those related to food and water shortages, epidemics, pandemics, or natural disasters.

Independent, Fair Future acts with heart and passion, in all impartiality and neutrality. This independence of action is rooted in our means of subsistence and our funding, provided 100% by private resources.

This is why your help - particularly at the beginning of the year 2023 - is essential so that we can continue to exist and, together with you, do what we have been doing for so many years in favour of humans and the world. humanity only.

Thank you very much for everything.

The image(s) of the day and a few accompanying words with it!

Through a single photograph taken by one of us in the field, we discover who we are, how we work and with whom. Children in rural villages, their parents, families and communities with whom we have lived and worked. Simple, strong, touching moments in a single image (with text too).
