Ferro-Zement-Wassertanks: eine Lebensader für Gemeinden
These tanks positively impact health, hygiene, and sustainable development in remote villages that lack access to clean water and electricity, empowering these rural communities.
Zugang zu Sauberes Wasser can transform people’s lives by improving Hygiene, health, and food security in der Fernbedienung villages where the Fair Future Foundation operates. The Water Connections program addresses this critical need by building ferrocement water tanks in remote areas where essential resources such as electricity, healthcare, and Sauberes Wasser are non-existent. Accessing these communities often requires crossing paths only passable by our well-equipped 4×4 truck, for example, the Truck of Life.
However, despite all the obstacles encountered, we are undeterred from fulfilling our commitment to provide Sichere Wasserversorgung and continue to build dozens of tanks und Sanität facilities for these marginalized und isolated populations.
The construction of these Wasserbehälter serves as a testament to the Stärke und collaborative spirit of humanity. Despite the Mangel an Strom or water Ressourcen, we depend on physical effort, Expertise, and strong Entschlossenheit to enhance the lives of these communities. By partnering with other villagers in the surrounding area, we share knowledge for development purposes, empowering these communities to become self-reliant. Dies exchange guarantees that our efforts have lasting impacts beyond our team’s initial contribution.
“Sauberes Wasser is the most affordable medicine in the world. By building Ferro-Zement reservoirs, we empower communities to safeguard their health, prevent disease, and secure their future.”
— Alex Wettstein, CEO & Founder of Fair Future Foundation

Water Connections: The Cost of a 500-Liter Lifesaving Water Tank
Building a 5000-litre ferro-cement water reservoir in highly remote areas goes beyond providing Sauberes Wasser; it invests in the health and future of entire communities. The construction process is labour-intensive, requiring eight days von manual work, often without electricity and in challenging conditions. Transporting materials to these isolated villages adds complexity, as “roads” are challenging to navigate, and access to resources is limited.
Despite these challenges, the cost of constructing such a reservoir is relatively low—approximately 12 million IDR or around 700 Swiss francs. This modest sum provides clean water to hundreds of people, often more than 50 families, with children constituting about 60% of the beneficiaries. For just +/-700 Swiss francs, you can help transform a community by giving them access to Sauberes Wasser, significantly reducing eine Krankheit, improving health, and improving overall quality of life.
If you wish to contribute to this life-changing program, your Unterstützung can help us build the next reservoir, bringing Sauberes Wasser and hope to those who need it most. I need it most.
