Impatto locale: Lottare contro la malaria con la prevenzione e la cura
Reaching the most isolated communities, Fair Future’s Zero Malaria Program provides prevention, treatment, and education to save lives.
Il Zero Malaria programma, led by Fair Future Foundation, Kawan Baik Indonesia and in partnership with Rotary International, aims to migliorare the lives of ultra-rural communities in Indonesia by addressing the severe threat of malaria and other malattie infettive.
Our approach to combating this problem starts with Prevenzione. In areas where malaria is common, we prioritize educating communities, especially children, about hygiene, Acqua pulita, and good gestione dei rifiuti. These simple practices are essential to prevent malaria and other malattie infettive. In addition, we distribute insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) and practice indoor residual spraying per proteggere families from mosquito bites, significantly reducing malaria transmission.
Despite our prevention efforts, malaria cases still occur in huge numbers. Our medical teams, with the support of Rotary, conduct extensive screenings using rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) e testi del sangue to diagnose malaria quickly. We ensure that our teams reach even the most remote villages to provide immediate treatment e prevent the spread of the disease.
On the other hand, distribution, continuous education, information sharing and prevention efforts allow communities, families and villages in these ultra-rural areas to recognize the first symptoms of the disease and respond velocemente. It should be noted that the involvement of the Primary Medical Care program for more than three years provides means for rapid screening e treatment.
In addition, the Zero Malaria programma uses technology through applications that we have custom-designed per raccolta e monitor health data in these remote areas. This data is essential to monitor the effectiveness of our interventions and ensure rapid care for people in need.
Thanks to the support of our friends in Switzerland, Rotary International, our dedicated Le squadre on the ground, and all our volunteers, we can see miglioramenti in the quality of life without even talking about a reduction in malaria cases because, as you know here, this disease is endemic.
This program saves lives and improves the general health of these communities, allowing children to go to school and adults to contribuire to their families and communities actively.
As the fight against malaria continues, we are confident in making it a thing of the past in these vulnerable regions, thanks to our partners’ support and our teams’ dedizione. Every action we take brings us closer to a healthier future for all.
