Hello Kawan {name}, how are you today?

Once again, the Fair Future teams and all the good friends, the Kawan Baik volunteers and collaborators, are happy and proud to send you this particular newsletter.

Indeed, we wanted to explain to you in a few lines and a few pages, as part of the "Water Connections" project report, everything we have been implementing for more than 15 months.

As always, we use simple, authentic words. Those who highlight the people, communities and families of these ultra-rural areas of eastern Indonesia, with whom we work every day.

Our work in the field, often under challenging conditions, is to do everything possible, with our resources and courage, to improve the health and living conditions of the hundreds of thousands of people around us.

The “Water Connections” project report, East Sumba, Indonesia – Mbinudita site.

02/11/2022

Fair Future regularly presents reports establishing what we have achieved in all our actions in favour of humans and humanity. The document that we propose to you here explains what, all together, we have done over the past fifteen months within the framework of this colossal project, Water Connections, Mbinudita site, Sumba East, Indonesia.

As a reminder, this project aims to provide access to drinking water and sanitation to more than 2,500 people whose homes are scattered over nearly 10 hectares. What we have achieved in the space of over 12 months and out of the ordinary, to be very honest. Who could have imagined a few years ago that this village of #Mbinudia and its more than 2500 inhabitants (nearly 70% of whom are children), isolated from everything, without road access worthy of the name, without clean water, without electricity, without school too, would it be today what it has become? Who could have even dreamed of it as it seemed impossible to do? Who? To be very honest, not me.

By the way, where is Mbinudita?

Related to this report, but also to the foundation's primary mission, which is to find solutions to improve the health and living conditions of families, here is the latest news from the foundation and our work in the most isolated and ultra-peripheral.

Where we are, almost no roads lead, electricity is scarce, and internet connections are pure theory. Water, medical care, food, and so many things are missing, but we are changing that.

New healthy sanitation facilities are being built in Rita, East Sumba

We do not stop Kawan. As part of the #waterconnections project, we have already built the site of #mbinudita #sdmbinudita, more than thirty (30) tanks of more than 6000 litres, six (6) complete sanitary facilities including two toilets, showers, laundry washing and water collection point. More than 10,000 meters of PVC pipes have been buried, connecting all these installations. We still have a lot of work to do. It's intense activity.

We are developing essential tools to implement our projects

Fair Future develops participatory monitoring tools as part of its screening and definition of needs. This map is produced as part of the #WaterConnections project. It is updated as a new sewerage installation, a new deep borehole, a new clean water reservoir and everything that directly or indirectly affects this project is built. This Google map allows us to work, do this project and calculate: Heights, elevations, distances, depths etc... Thanks to this tool, this project is much easier to implement.
