Problems of access to medical treatment in case of Malaria here.
In this image, a kid from East Sumba. He is one of the categories of people who are most affected here and now by Malaria. This disease remains the most critical parasitosis and mainly affects children under five and pregnant women. The malaria parasite is primarily transmitted at night when bitten by a female mosquito, itself infected after biting an individual with malaria. |

A very warm hello Kawan {name},
As we wrote to you in the last newsletter, we are in complete preparation for the upcoming departure of our socio-medical truck, the Truck of Life. Our departure is scheduled for next week. It is now complicated to wait longer before acting because the expectations on the spot are enormous.
Two priority objectives: The 1st is the continuation of the program of access to primary medical care for children, those of the ultra-rural and peripheral regions of eastern Indonesia. Teacher training, the establishment of emergency care protocols, and the distribution of medical equipment kits in more than fifty schools established in the ultra-rural regions of eastern Indonesia. |

About Malaria. We need medicines to treat people -mostly children- who are affected in large numbers.
The needs for medical equipment and medicines are essential at the moment. The authorities and state services concerned do not care and do not have the means to buy the drugs that many families should have to treat one of their own. |
| |
The second objective, but also the urgency of the moment, is, as we told you above, linked to Malaria, which is very rampant here where we are at work at the moment, with the teams of the Foundation and Kawan Baik as part of the "Water Connections" project.
I had an interview a few days ago with the medical doctors on site, but also with the local health authority and even our friend Khris (the Bupati of Sumba East, his Regent), who shared their immense concerns with us, related to this epidemic of Malaria which is raging at the moment.
Their words are clear and precise: "-The disease mainly affects young children, those under the age of five, vulnerable people, especially those with weakened immune systems from other diseases linked to poverty and under-eating. food Pregnant women are also affected... We have nothing to treat them!".
If this tells you, you can act, not for us, but for all of them there. |

If we all get together, then we can do it! |
Kawan {name}, let's do it together and hold hands to reach the moon. Ensure that the primary medical care program for children can continue as the needs are enormous here in eastern Indonesia. Malaria is ravaging, expectations are high, and we lack the means to buy medical equipment, medicines and everything. They need it to get better... |

The book "Kawan Sehat", for the kids to be well or better, it's done! |
| |
Kawan Sehat means "healthy friend".
This is one of two original publications that Fair Future will use for the Primary Medical Care Access Program.
It's a clear and simple title, but it says it all. This book is twenty pages. Our friend Bayu illustrated these boards so that children could immediately understand their meaning without reading. Only the drawings will be enough for them to realize.
Each board presents Rambu (the woman), Umbu (the man) and a Horse (which is the symbol of the local culture) around socio-sanitary themes. So the three of them will share with the kids moments of their daily life around hygiene, eating healthier, drinking more and better, brushing their teeth, not showering and washing their bodies with detergent, how to treat a snake bite, a dog bite, a cut wound, a burn etc... before it becomes infected and becomes fatal.
The foundation's medical teams - familiar with local customs and traditions - have treated about twenty public health subjects so that everyone gets better and acquires practical basic knowledge to treat themselves effectively at critical times in their lives. And even to save the life of someone close to them.
This book is an integral part of the program of access to primary medical care for children in ultra-rural areas, for which we are in tons of boxes at the moment (although I wish there were more, in a sense, a lot more boxes). |

The latest(s) article(s) published on Fair Future
In connection with the primary mission of the foundation -which is basically to find solutions to improve the health and living conditions of families- here is the latest(s) article(s) about the news of the foundation and our work in the eastern regions of this immense country of nearly 400 million inhabitants, the 4th largest in the world; Eh yes!
Where we are, hardly any roads lead, electricity is very scarce, and internet connection is pure theory. Clean water, access to medical care, food, soap, toothpaste, clothes, shoes, and so many things are missing. But with you, Kawan {name}, we are doing everything to change that. |

Malaria epidemic in East Sumba, Indonesia in a few figures and facts. |
Kawan {name}, do you know that Malaria is one of the world's most serious public health problems? Here in Indonesia, and especially in the eastern regions, it is one of the leading causes of death and disease. Children under five and pregnant women are the most affected groups. The problem in Sumba, where we are, is the staggering rate of cases affecting families and children. And anti Malaria drugs are unavailable, and we are pretty sure that you can have a solution to support them. |

Kawan {name}, that's why your donation means so much. |
For fifteen years, Fair Future and all its friends have provided social, medical, infrastructural and educational assistance to populations whose life and health are threatened by diseases, especially those linked to food and water shortages, epidemics, pandemics, Malaria, tuberculosis, dengue or natural disasters.
Independent, Fair Future acts with heart and passion, in all impartiality and neutrality. This independence of action is anchored in our means of subsistence, and our financing, which is provided 100% by resources of private origin. This is why your help is essential so that we can continue to exist and, together with you, do what we do in favour of humans and humanity.
Thank you very much for everything. |
