Visit the Fair Future Foundation Website here Kawan!

We provide solutions for a healthier and more harmonious life in rural areas.

Dear kawan {name}, Fair Future is a Swiss organization recognized for pure public utility. We offer social assistance, medical care and education access and create economic opportunities for communities, families and individuals affected by poverty, health crises, epidemics, natural disasters and food or water shortages. Thank you for being here with us.

Why does Fair Future focus part of its activities on access to clean water? While we are first and foremost a medical organization?

Fair Future team and its collaborators are happy to send you this new newsletter which explains what we are doing on the ground here in East Sumba under challenging conditions. If you need more information, do not hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to answer you as soon as possible.

A few words from the president of the foundation board

Dear Kawan {name}, hello everyone from East Sumba; how are you?

I am pleased to write you these few lines to inform you of the progress of our projects and to tell you that everyone is in good health, despite the fatigue linked to the harshness of the work on site.

Over the past three months, over ten 6,500-litre Ferro-cement tanks and four sanitary facilities have been built. We are currently completing new clean water tanks and new healthy sanitation facilities in the most rural areas of eastern Indonesia.

Health teams, water specialists, boreholes and builders are on site. With the help of the entire local community - strong women, brave men, willing children and even brave animals - we are working hard to complete this titanic task of providing access to clean water for an entire region. We have until next December to end the #waterconnections project on the Mbinudita site because other socio-medical projects are pending. This is the goal that Fair Future and Kawan Baik have set themselves.

Note that we are seeing a fundamental change in the habits of families who benefit from the "Water Connections" program. Gardens are created, people eat better, drink more, have more energy and are much healthier. And that's magic. It's a dream come true in a way, replacing medicine with healthy water...

The needs are enormous. They always have been. To summarize them is to talk about the lack of medical equipment, especially for treating emergencies in rural areas, children's wounds burn like Assia and medicines.

For the drilling program linked to clean water access, we are always looking for a second-hand truck (which makes it a big van) to transport the heavy materials, the drilling machine, the sand, cement, pipes, and pumps. That is between 3 and 5 tonnes of equipment for each borehole.

So if you feel like it, you can help us because we lack financial resources, but also material and even human resources despite the nearly fifty volunteers working on the work sites every day.

In advance, a huge thank you to all of you.

Access to better health has always been the primary mission of the foundation. We are indeed, and above all, a medical organization. It was a dream; it is now a reality!

Healing people by giving them access to water in quantity and quality is incredible. Yes, people are healthier and less sick.

We are in the process of completing new clean water tanks and new sanitation facilities in Mbinudita. Our teams are on-site with the help of the entire local community, women, men and children who help us in this work. These infrastructures are made of Ferro-cement, like all the others, with the difference that we give the possibility to the villagers to choose the type of construction. Once again, this type of collaboration works wonders on site because it allows everyone…
