Our Swiss Foundation Board
The Foundation Board is responsible for governance in Switzerland while our teams work every day in eastern Indonesia. Five volunteer members oversee the Foundation’s direction, finances and ethical responsibilities. We are inviting two more people to join them in 2027.
Meet the Swiss Foundation Board
Governance connected to the field
Fair Future Foundation is a Swiss public-utility foundation. Five volunteer Board members guide its strategic direction, financial stewardship and legal responsibilities while medical and operational teams work in eastern Indonesia.
Good governance is not separate from field medicine. Decisions about health programmes, clean water, education or infrastructure must be informed by what local teams encounter every day. Board members bring experience in clinical work, education, finance, communication and technical systems.
The Foundation is inviting two new volunteer members to join in 2027. We particularly welcome backgrounds in infrastructure and innovation, and in health and social impact. Learn about the two positions below.
Swiss governance and field responsibility
Swiss governance
The Board is responsible for oversight, stewardship and the Foundation’s long-term direction. Financial reports and statutes provide a public record of those responsibilities.
Field operations in Indonesia
Medical care, prevention, water access and education are carried out with local professionals, community health agents and Kawan Baik Indonesia. Field realities guide the decisions taken in Switzerland.
Meet the five Board members
Five volunteers, with different backgrounds and a shared responsibility: good governance, accountable decisions and a close understanding of our work in the field.

Alex Wettstein
Founder & President · Field Medical Activities
Founder of Fair Future Foundation in 2008, Alex is a Swiss medical doctor who also leads medical work in Indonesia. He connects Board decisions with the daily realities of primary care, prevention, clean water and village-based programmes.

Maxime Capelli
Board Member · Technical Systems
Maxime brings practical experience in refrigeration, heating and technical systems. His engineering background supports informed decisions about equipment, logistics, infrastructure and the feasibility of projects in remote areas.

Elisa Wettstein
Board Member · Finance & Communications
Elisa contributes to finance, reporting, communication and programme coordination. Based in Indonesia since 2020, she helps connect the Foundation’s administrative responsibilities with educational activities and field operations.

Michèle Rey
Vice-President · Education & Governance
A Board member since 2021, Michèle is an experienced educator and former school leader. She contributes to governance, document review, communication, education and fundraising, with a strong understanding of institutional responsibility.

Chloé Dubrit
Board Member · Community & Enterprise
An entrepreneur from the Canton of Vaud and a long-standing Board member, Chloé brings experience in children’s learning, creativity and small-enterprise management. She provides continuity and an independent, practical perspective.
Join the Board in 2027
We are welcoming two new volunteer members to Fair Future Foundation’s Swiss Foundation Board. We are looking for people with relevant experience, independent judgement and a practical understanding of responsibility. These are governance roles, not field employment.
VOLUNTEER BOARD ROLE · 2027
Infrastructure & Innovation
Engineering, water infrastructure, energy, logistics or sustainable development.
Help assess feasibility, long-term maintenance and investment choices so field teams can rely on solutions that work.
VOLUNTEER BOARD ROLE · 2027
Health & Social Impact
Clinical practice, public health, social work or community programmes.
Bring an informed perspective to programme priorities, medical ethics, prevention and the real consequences of decisions for families.
What participation involves
A small number of meetings each year, careful review of documents and decisions, and constructive professional advice. Much of the work can be done remotely. Field visits are welcome when possible, but not required.
To express an interest, please briefly introduce yourself and mention Foundation Board 2027 and the area where you could contribute. You can also write to [email protected].
ACCOUNTABILITY & TRANSPARENCY
Independent financial oversight
The Foundation Board is responsible for governance. FidOffice SA provides a separate, independent review of Fair Future Foundation’s accounts. The firm has audited the Foundation since 2011 and is not a member of the Board.
Our annual reports and financial statements are publicly available. They help explain how the Foundation is governed, how resources are used and how our work is documented.
