Useful equipment, materials and skills help our teams and local communities care, build and learn together in East Sumba.
Give something useful
Care. Build. Learn together.
A blood-pressure monitor helps a community health worker follow a neighbour’s health. Pipes and tools help a village build its water supply. A reliable laptop helps a local colleague manage records and learn new skills.
These are practical ways to support the work we do with communities in East Sumba. A useful gift is one our teams can use, maintain and pass on with the knowledge to use it well.
What could you contribute?
These examples are a starting point. Please contact us before buying, bringing or sending anything so we can confirm what is needed now.
Médicaments : we cannot accept medicines from abroad or expired medicines. To buy medicines in Indonesia, contact us for our prepared needs lists before purchasing.
Equip everyday care
Blood-pressure monitors, thermometers, stethoscopes, examination lights and suitable first-aid consumables can support Primary Medical Care, community care days and Rumah Kambera.
For malaria prevention, ask about locally sourced mosquito nets and the supplies on our team’s current list. Medical equipment must be complete, functional and agreed with us first.
Help communities build
Pipes, fittings, taps, valves, water-storage materials and plumbing tools can support Water Connection and community sanitation projects.
A village reservoir brings people together to build and learn. Buying the right materials in Indonesia helps us match local sizes and find replacement parts. We can provide specifications before you purchase.
Make learning practical
Notebooks, pencils, geometry sets, teaching materials in Indonesian and durable classroom equipment can help children and their teachers.
Learning also happens beyond school: visual health-education materials and practical training equipment help local women and community health workers gain skills they can share. Ask which materials suit the group we are working with.
Bring reliable light
Suitable solar equipment, efficient lights, safe electrical components and rechargeable work lamps can support school electrification and community facilities.
Panels, batteries and controllers need to work together. Please send model details before buying or offering equipment, so our team can check compatibility, installation needs and whether it can be maintained locally.
Keep field teams moving
Quality hand tools, drills, protective gloves, boots, storage boxes and workshop equipment can help teams build, repair and reach remote communities.
Vehicle parts, tyres and maintenance supplies may also be useful, but must match our vehicles. Long journeys on rough roads make reliable equipment important: please confirm sizes, models and transport arrangements with us.
Share tools and know-how
Working laptops with chargers, suitable printers and office equipment can support local administration, training and programme records.
You can also offer practical skills in IT, accounting, translation, repairs or technical training. Tell us what you can offer and when. We will discuss a useful role alongside local colleagues, with time to share knowledge.
Tell us your idea
A few details help us turn your offer into something useful for the people we work with.
- What would you like to offer?
- How many, and in what condition?
- Where are the items now?
- When would they be available?
