The Water Connections initiative in Laindatang has become a rainwater storage system to provide clean water to over 200 residents.
A 110-cubic-meter rainwater tank will ensure a reliable, clean water supply to the Laindatang community, even during droughts.
In Laindatang village, the Water Connections Program has reached a critical juncture. After months of challenging drilling attempts, finding a reliable groundwater source has proven difficult. Due to the rugged terrain and scarce aquifers, our team temporarily suspended drilling activities for safety. Nevertheless, the demand for clean water remains urgent, especially during intense droughts.
Primus, Alex, and the Fair Future team collaborating with the Kawan Baik Foundation, have designed an innovative solution to address this crisis: a 110-cubic-meter semi-buried rainwater tank. This project is intended to collect and store filtered rainwater, ensuring a sustainable water supply for over 200 residents of Laindatang. As climate change brings about prolonged droughts, having a reliable water source will significantly improve the well-being and health of the community.
The project has generated optimism among villagers, who readily show their support and willingness to participate in the construction efforts. During our discussions on-site, local families expressed their eagerness to contribute and collaborate. This united community effort is a testament to their resilience and hope for a future where water scarcity no longer governs their daily challenges.
This rainwater storage system is not just a solution; it represents stability and a healthier future. Providing clean, filtered rainwater as a crucial resource when natural sources are scarce ensures that families have access to water year-round. Additionally, this reservoir will strengthen community bonds through shared responsibility and collaboration.
We invite everyone to join us in this mission and support our commitment to providing safe and clean water for all. Your support is vital—thank you very much!
