Three circles. One health.

We cannot damage the living world and expect medicine to repair every consequence. Human, animal and environmental health are connected. In East Sumba, safe water, trained health agents, malaria prevention and earlier care belong together. With communities, never in their place.
We cannot keep damaging what sustains life and expect medicine to repair every consequence.
Three circles: people, animals and the environment. At their intersection, one reality: our health depends on the living world we belong to. This is One Health.
Polluted water, damaged habitats and a changing climate can alter the conditions in which infections emerge and spread. No one knows when or where the next pandemic will begin. Preparing cannot wait for certainty.
In East Sumba, our contribution is practical: improve access to water, train community health agents, recognise serious infections, follow patients, prevent malaria and understand why care sometimes comes too late. These efforts belong together.
We cannot change everything. We can listen, treat, build useful things and speak out against the harm we see. With communities, never in their place.
