This is an unprecedented milestone as we become the first NGO to coordinate a humanitarian duty-free import on such a large scale. These lamps will soon be lighting up homes in ultra-rural villages in East Sumba, significantly improving the education and daily lives of children and families in this region.
We invite you to look at the map below, which shows the schools and villages that we have identified and that do not have access to electricity at all (identification work is still in progress). The yellow markers are the schools that will benefit from these 2224 lamps. The gray markers are the ones for which we are also working hard to give them solar lamps.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Rotary International, SolarBuddy and our amazing teams in Indonesia and Australia for making this possible. This marks the beginning of a journey towards a brighter future for thousands of families.
