Their immune responses to the Plasmodium parasite may not be as robust as those of adults, rendering them more susceptible to the infection. This susceptibility is further exacerbated by limited prior exposure to malaria, hindering the development of immunity. Additionally, children’s proclivity to spend extended periods outdoors, particularly during the active hours of Anopheles mosquitoes, heightens their risk of mosquito bites and subsequent infection;
