Medical supplies prepared and delivered by Erwin to empower frontline care in isolated villages.
Every two months, essential medication kits are delivered to health workers in ultra-rural Indonesia by Erwin.
Every two months, under the Kawan Baik and Fair Future Foundation’s Primary Medical Care program, Erwin prepares and delivers life-saving medications to Kawan Sehat Health Agents in Indonesia’s remote areas. These healthcare agents serve as vital caregivers in some of the most isolated regions, with limited access to electricity, clean water, and healthcare services, often situated hours away from the nearest health facility.
The mission starts at our supply base, Rumah Kambera, where Erwin meticulously selects and organises a diverse range of medications. Each custom-built medical backpack is stocked with over 100 essential items. Antiseptics, fever reducers, painkillers, antihistamines, and wound dressings are just the beginning. The kits also include diagnostic tools, like blood pressure monitors and thermometers, transforming Kawan Sehat Health Agents into mobile clinics that save lives.
Erwin utilises the Kawan Sehat mobile app for efficient inventory management, ensuring no medication is missed. This tool enables precision in a supply system adapted specifically for the challenges of rural healthcare delivery. Each item is purposefully chosen to address common health issues like infections, fevers, and injuries, emphasising the importance of adaptability and preparedness in healthcare logistics.
Once kits are prepared, Erwin embarks on arduous, often multi-day journeys across East Sumba—by truck, motorbike, or on foot—to deliver supplies. These treks ensure uninterrupted healthcare for hundreds of patients monthly in villages where traditional healthcare systems falter.
This work is neither glamorous nor widely known, yet it is profoundly significant. It combines logistics with compassion, addressing health inequities through grassroots efforts. Thanks to Erwin and Kawan Sehat caregivers, alongside the steadfast support of Fair Future and Kawan Baik,Primary Medical Care transcends geography, becoming a tangible right for even the most forgotten areas.
