The Kawan Sehat app, developed by Fair Future, revolutionizes rural healthcare. It enables health agents in remote areas to record patient information, consult with doctors, and access medical resources without an internet connection. This boosts their confidence and improves healthcare accessibility.

The Kawan Sehat App empowers health agents in remote villages to deliver life-saving medical care and facilitate connections with doctors, reaching areas lacking healthcare access.
This is perhaps one of the most meaningful photos we have published. It shows one of our Primary Medical Care health workers exploring the new possibilities available to her and her future patients thanks to the Kawan Sehat application.
Developed by the Fair Future and Kawan Baik foundations, the Kawan Sehat application has evolved over the past two years. It continues to improve, adapting to all health workers’ needs in Primary Medical Care. Today, we continue its development to offer even more alternatives and access to care to these frankly very disadvantaged populations.
Today, this application and our 2nd App, “Zero Malaria“, have reached a quality” that allows health workers like her to communicate effectively with our medical teams, even from remote villages where internet access is almost non-existent. With this application, they can record and share crucial data about patients, medical treatments provided, symptoms observed and even photos of injuries or health problems.
Every treatment, from wound care to dressing, disinfection, blood pressure checks, and medication prescriptions, is meticulously recorded. This also allows you to give precise figures on, for example, the number of malnourished children or new cases of Malaria, Dengue, Tuberculosis or Polio. The Kawan Sehat App is invaluable in ultra-rural regions without other medical resources. It ensures that each patient is correctly registered while receiving appropriate and verified treatment, creating a database that can be accessed and referred to later, providing continuity of care.
The Kawan Sehat App is more than just a tool; it’s a lifeline. It gives our health agents the confidence to make life-saving decisions, even in the most remote areas.” – Alex Wettstein, CEO and Founder of Fair Future Foundation
This application is “reminiscent of Allodoc”, allowing healthcare professionals to communicate information about patients remotely. However, the Kawan Sehat App is revolutionary in ensuring our health workers access to accurate medical information and resources. It also serves as an encyclopedia, a regularly updated medical resource our teams provide.
The App’s GPS functionality also allows us to track housing and environmental issues, such as stagnant water, which can contribute to malaria outbreaks. This will enable us to act quickly and effectively. Most importantly, this tool gives our health workers, who are not professional doctors but have received extensive medical training from the Swiss Fair Future Foundation, the confidence to provide life-saving care. That’s no small feat!
This App is even more remarkable because it works without constant internet access. Data is stored offline and transmitted as soon as the device connects to a network, allowing our doctors to communicate, verify treatments, and even compile statistics to track the fight against infectious diseases.
This is a significant step forward in access to healthcare for all, and we are excited to share it with you.
