20.03.25 - Today, Fair Future donated CHF 5,953 (IDR 111M) to fund the distribution of 2,250 SolarBuddy lamps across 24 ultra-rural schools and Village in East Sumba. This includes all related logistics to bring light where there's never been any.

Free Medical Day: 150 Treated, Screenings and Vaccinations Provided

20.03.25—Fair Future held a free medical care day in Kawangu. Over 150 people were treated, TB and malaria screenings were conducted, and young children were vaccinated. We also led health education and prevention efforts. It was a powerful day!

This donation provides modern tools to those who save lives every day – Medical Professional at RSUD Umbu Rara Meha

On 19 September, Fair Future officially delivered over CHF 12,000 worth of essential medical equipment to RSUD Umbu Rara Meha, Sumba’s sole public hospital, which serves a population of almost 1’000,000 residents (ref: Regent Sumba Timur in his Speech). The handover in Waingapu was attended by Regent Umbu Lili Pekuwali, local officials, and nearly 70 participants, including healthcare professionals and representatives from the media.

This donation is distinctive in its approach: rather than following hospital management’s requests, Fair Future worked directly with end-users—doctors, nurses, and surgical teams—to identify their real needs. The equipment, ranging from surgical instruments to neonatal phototherapy lamps, ECG machines, microscopes, and resuscitation gear, introduces advanced tools to those committed to saving lives.

The event was described as historic and deeply valued by government officials and healthcare providers. For the Fair Future Foundation and Kawan Baik Indonesia, supported by the “Laboratory without Walls” and Rotary Australia, this highlighted an important lesson: true impact starts with listening to frontline heroes.

Essential Medical Equipment Donated to RSUD Waingapu

Fair Future Foundation, in collaboration with Kawan Baik Indonesia and Rotary Australia, is donating more than 40 categories and 175 pieces of equipment to RSUD Waingapu, the only referral hospital serving approximately 800,000 people in East Sumba.

This life-saving donation includes:

  1. Digital thermometers for accurate and fast patient monitoring (20 units).
  2. Portable pulse oximeters with pediatric sensors for infants and children.
  3. Hospital-grade nebulisers to treat severe respiratory conditions.
  4. Peak-flow meters to monitor lung function.
  5. Neonatal Resuscitator (T-Piece System) for Newborn Emergency Care.
  6. Ambu bags are available in three sizes—adult, child, and infant—for resuscitation.
  7. Fibre-optic laryngoscopes for safe airway management in adults, children, and neonates.
  8. Cataract and hordeolum microsurgery sets are vital for ophthalmology.
  9. Sterilisation boxes for safe handling of surgical instruments.
  10. Surgical scissors of all types (Mayo, Metzenbaum-Fino, Lister, tissue, survival kits).
  11. Reusable waterproof surgical gowns provide protection and hygiene in operating rooms.
  12. Phototherapy lamps are used to treat neonatal jaundice, a leading cause of infant morbidity.
  13. Manual baby scales to monitor newborn growth and nutrition.
  14. ECG 12-lead machine with trolley and recording paper for cardiac diagnostics.
  15. Laboratory and support equipment, including an Olympus microscope, centrifuge, Neubauer counting chambers, plus an APC UPS, HP computer, and basic hospital furniture.
