Primary Medical Care Program for Rural Areas – PMC – The Fair Future Foundation’s lifesaving program.
Our new “Photo of the Day“ features Kawan Sehat health agents receiving vital instructions and information from our expert medical professionals. Our efforts are focused on the Mahu region’s Wairara village, which suffers from one of the most prevalent malaria in Southeast Asia. In partnership with Fair Future and Kawan Baik, we have been conducting training sessions over several days to equip these dedicated health workers with cutting-edge medications and equipment that can significantly enhance their capabilities.
Those residing in this area confront dire poverty, with undernourished youngsters being a common incidence due to extreme malnutrition. The consumption of unclean water and inadequate sustenance also manifests as prevalent infectious ailments, including polio, tuberculosis, and dysentery. We have multiple programs to serve the individuals inhabiting this isolated area, like Primary Medical Care, the Zero Malaria program, and the Water Connections initiative.
This region lacks adequate medical facilities, making the Program Primary Medical Care essential. Without it, people residing here would lack access to fundamental healthcare amenities like wound treatment, medication, bandages, monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure levels, and managing fever and injuries caused by snakebites.
Our Primary Medical Care program is a real opportunity for these rural communities. It’s not just about treating illnesses; it’s about saving lives and empowering local health workers to create lasting change.” – Alex Wettstein, CEO and Founder of Fair Future Foundation
We see our professional teams training the health workers of Kawan Sehat. Failure to do so could result in minor injuries, burns or fevers progressing to life-threatening illnesses, significantly increasing mortality rates from delayed medical interventions.
The primary medical care program is instrumental in preserving lives by offering primary care to those without access to a physician or a health professional. Its expedient treatment of injuries and ailments helps prevent further complications. Furthermore, we equip health agents from various ultra-isolated villages with vital medical resources.
