We want to share an important update regarding the expected arrival of 2,224 SolarBuddy lamps in East Sumba. Due to unexpected changes in the shipping documents (Bill of Lading), the delivery has been delayed from late May to early June. This 15-day delay impacts multiple facets of our planned operations, notably distributions in 24 schools, volunteer training sessions, and segments of our healthcare logistics. – See the Interactive map here.
The delivery of these SolarBuddy lamps is crucial as they provide communities with a sustainable and essential lighting solution, particularly in remote and off-grid areas like East Sumba, where access to electricity is limited. Solar lamps enhance safety during nighttime hours, enable educational activities, and improve overall quality of life.
Although this setback poses a real challenge, particularly after months of meticulous preparation, it will not deter us. We are adapting swiftly to ensure everything is on track by June 10th. Our focus remains steady on providing crucial resources and support to these communities.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your understanding and support. Your continued encouragement is invaluable to Fair Future and Kawan Baik as we tirelessly advance our mission to improve lives in one of Indonesia’s most isolated regions.
Thank you for standing with us.
