How we Enhanced Water, Healthcare, and Human Dignity Across Rural Indonesia
A year of fieldwork improving health, nutrition, and dignity in remote communities.
2024 Annual Report – Going Further, Acting Deeper, Serving Better
We are pleased to share the Fair Future 2024 Annual Report, a year that challenged us and reaffirmed why we do what we do. Working in some of the most remote and disadvantaged areas of East Sumba, Indonesia, we remained deeply committed to our medical, social, and humanitarian missions.
In 2024, our Primary Medical Care programme reached new milestones. With 21 Kawan Sehat health workers, all trained by Fair Future, we provided over 9,000 treatments in ultra-rural villages. These local workers diagnosed, treated, and educated communities struggling with malaria, malnutrition, infectious diseases, wounds, and chronic pain, often walking for hours to reach patients who have no access to a doctor or clinic.
Our Water Connections programme has also expanded. In Laindatang and Hambarita, we built and connected eight ferrocement tanks, handwashing stations, toilets, and clean water systems to homes, schools, and community areas. Each installation has directly improved the lives of hundreds of people, offering them dignity and better health.
We have initiated impactful prevention campaigns by printing thousands of posters in local languages on both paper and fabric. These posters aim to raise awareness about malaria, hygiene, waterborne diseases, nutrition, and other key health issues. Additionally, awareness sessions have been conducted in numerous villages, schools, and health centres. The goal is to equip communities with knowledge that helps them safeguard their health, particularly in areas where access to medical care is limited.
Thanks to our unique model, where 93% of all donations go directly to the field, we demonstrate that innovation, compassion, and local participation can genuinely change lives.
The 2024 Annual Report is now available in French and will be available in English soon. We invite you to read it to learn about our achievements and the future we are building together.

The 2024 Activity Report goes beyond mere statistics to highlight the human side of our mission: children learning to wash their hands for the first time, women finally gaining access to safe toilets, and villagers getting treatment for long-standing illnesses. It emphasises dignity restored, wounds healed, and futures created through tangible, compassionate efforts.
