Education is prevention. Every billboard means fewer infections and more families protected.
Last week, the Fair Future Foundation, together with Rotary International, Rotary Australia, Malaria Partners International, and Kawan Baik Indonesia, successfully installed 20 educational billboards across East Sumba. These impactful visuals highlight malaria prevention and symptom recognition, providing families with vital knowledge to protect themselves and seek prompt treatment.
In areas where malaria transmission rates are dangerously high, raising awareness is essential for saving lives. Many families lack access to adequate diagnostics or preventive measures, and misconceptions often delay treatment. By delivering clear, culturally sensitive messages directly into communities, these billboards play a key role in reducing malaria infections and preventing severe cases.
This initiative forms part of the East Sumba Malaria Prevention Project 2025, a comprehensive strategy that includes education, IRS spraying, mosquito net distribution, and improved laboratory services, supported by 16 years of Swiss humanitarian expertise in the region.
