Fair Future’s latest anti-tobacco poster highlights the grave dangers of passive smoking. Annually, tobacco claims the lives of 1.2 million non-smokers, affecting children, pregnant women, and whole families. This campaign is set to be launched throughout rural Indonesia with the aim of educating and safeguarding those most vulnerable.
In East Sumba, countless families exist without any light source. The lack of electricity forces children to embark on lengthy journeys to school at dawn, individuals cook under perilous conditions, and nighttime study becomes a significant challenge. Solar lighting provides a safe and sustainable remedy that enhances education, health, and security for these communities.

Tobacco impacts more than just the smokers themselves—secondhand smoke endangers children, pregnant women, and whole communities. To combat this issue, Fair Future is initiating an urgent campaign focused on educating people about passive smoke exposure and promoting direct community action. The time has come to eliminate this silent threat.
We’re purchasing over 300 long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) to protect families from malaria in Umalulu and beyond. These high-quality, extra-resistant nets last over 5 years and are a crucial tool in our #ZeroMalaria program. Costing nearly $20 each, they are a major investment in health and prevention.

Without access to electricity, clean water, or basic healthcare facilities, residents of Umalulu face alarming rates of malaria infections throughout the year. This study, funded by RAM, an international malaria control organization with CHF 5,000, aims to assess the severity of the situation and lay the foundations for an effective response. Umalulu is one of the poorest and most remote areas in East Sumba. Access to the area is complex, requiring off-road vehicles or motorbikes to navigate its rugged terrain.
