With our Rotary International partners, we’ve printed thousands of posters promoting healthy living and disease prevention in regions where diseases like malaria are endemic. These posters, available in both laminated and fabric formats, will be distributed across ultra-rural areas, schools, medical centers, and public spaces.
We’re excited to introduce a new guidebook for teachers and storytellers using our Kawan Sehat book for children in isolated rural areas. This guide offers a clear, step-by-step approach to explaining the book effectively, ensuring that vital information is consistently and clearly conveyed. It will be distributed to all teachers along with the Kawan Sehat book.
The first medicines are arriving, and we’re sorting and packing them. In a few days, we’ll transport them to East Sumba with our two fully loaded trucks. These medicines are vital, as we’re nearly the sole provider for hundreds of thousands of people. Thank you for supporting the third year of our #PrimaryMedicalCare program.
Don’t confuse Dengue with Malaria. While Dengue is common in cities, Malaria is endemic in rural areas where we work. This photo shows the source of Malaria infection, mainly transmitted by infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. Without treatment, Malaria can become severe and fatal within 24 hours. We continue the fight through our #ZeroMalaria program.
As part of our #PrimaryMedicalCare 2024-2025 program, we are thrilled to announce that the Swiss Foundation has donated the first third of the annual budget—21,446 CHF (392 million IDR). This funding allows us to restock medical supplies, purchase medicines, and manage logistics for the next 12 months.
A major change for us: After years of effort, we’ve acquired a new Isuzu Traga truck, thanks to two generous donations. This Euro4-compliant truck will transport heavy construction and medical equipment, as well as a fixed 2,000-liter water tank to rural communities without access to water. A game-changer for our work.

We are thrilled to announce that Elma, who has been with us for several months, will join our team as a nutrition expert. Building a 5,000-liter ferro-cement water reservoir in remote areas costs about 12 million IDR (700 CHF). This reservoir provides clean water to hundreds of people, especially children, improving health and reducing disease. Your support can help us build the next reservoir and transform a community.
The training manual for Kawan Sehat health agents in the #PrimaryMedicalCare program, containing 14 modules over 150 pages, will be reprinted after revisions and additions. New modules will enhance the training to ensure these agents can fully address the needs of those who lack access to medical care in their remote areas.
As part of our medical prevention and healthy living programs, we are launching four new campaigns: smoking dangers, environmental preservation education, STD awareness, and the risks of alcohol consumption. These will involve specific training and new posters distributed in ultra-rural villages, schools, and medical centers in East Sumba.
For our #PrimaryMedicalCare program, the Swiss Foundation has decided to replace plastic medical kits with sustainable and eco-friendly backpacks made from recycled materials. These sturdy bags can store and transport all the necessary medical equipment. Decorated with a simple red cross, it is also our way of paying tribute to the ICRC.
