Bidi Hunga: our health cards enter the consultation

On 24 October, around 100 patients attended our care day in Bidi Hunga, three hours from Rumah Kambera. For the first time, our 16 health cards in Bahasa Indonesia joined the consultations, helping patients choose practical actions at home alongside necessary medicines and further care.
On 24 October, our team travelled three hours from Rumah Kambera to Bidi Hunga, where around one hundred patients of all ages attended a community care day. Our 16 illustrated health cards in Bahasa Indonesia were used in consultations for the first time.
With a health worker, patients could choose one or two practical actions: safer drinking water, handwashing with soap, less smoke exposure or appropriate wound care. The cards also explain warning signs and when to seek help. These actions complement necessary medicines and professional care.
The next step is to understand what families can realistically put into practice. A consultation ends, but its advice needs to remain useful at home. Our new field report describes this first use and the work needed to support continuity of care.
