The #PrimaryMedicalCare program in eastern Indonesia has a transformative impact on ultra-rural communities, empowering them to access primary medical care.
Since the beginning of last November, our teams have been on the ground to meet those who make these differences, who preserve and save life, lives.
We conduct assessments, review previous cases, and focus on specific medical situations by conducting case studies. We answer inquiries from healthcare workers and supplement stocks of equipment and medicine.
Since December 2022, the #PrimaryMedicalCare program by Fair Future has been a shining example of how healthcare interventions can dramatically transform the realities of ultra-rural communities in Eastern Indonesia. At the heart of this program are the Kawan Sehat health agents, true pillars of community health, whose commitment and dedication go beyond traditional medical care.
These health agents are selected from the local community members, which strengthens the trust bond with the villagers. They intimately understand the unique challenges their communities face, enabling a more personalized and empathetic approach to healthcare. This deep connection with the community is vital, as it not only ensures a better acceptance of healthcare practices but also allows for a thorough understanding of the local needs and beliefs.
Regular visits by Fair Future teams to these isolated villages are key moments of the program. These expeditions, often in difficult conditions and over rough terrain, demonstrate the unwavering commitment of the organization to reach the most deprived. During these visits, the teams not only follow up on the health agents but also provide ongoing support, particularly in terms of training and resources. These interactions make the health agents feel supported and valued, thereby strengthening their motivation and commitment to their community.
The continuous training of Kawan Sehat health agents is a crucial component of the program. This training extends beyond clinical skills to include essential aspects such as patient communication, complex case management, and disease prevention techniques. The goal is to equip them with all the necessary knowledge to effectively address the health challenges of their community, including infectious diseases, problems related to malnutrition, and the impacts of poor water quality and sanitation.
The program also ensures a regular supply of medical equipment and medications. This aspect is crucial, as it allows health agents to meet their community’s immediate medical needs effectively. These resources are often the only means of treatment available in these remote regions, where hospitals and clinics are inaccessible.
Beyond physical care, the #PrimaryMedicalCare program pays special attention to the psychosocial well-being of patients. Health agents are trained to recognize and address the psychological needs of patients, which are often overlooked but equally important. This holistic approach is essential for ensuring a complete and sustainable recovery of patients.
In summary, the #PrimaryMedicalCare program of the Fair Future Foundation is much more than a simple medical initiative; it is a social transformation movement aimed at strengthening local capacities, improving access to healthcare, and establishing a healthier future for ultra-rural communities in Eastern Indonesia. It is a concrete example of how commitment, innovation, and compassion can together create significant and lasting change in the lives of the most vulnerable.
Since last November, our teams, including Alex, have been traversing ultra-rural villages to meet all the health agents, these extraordinary women who preserve and save lives. In 2024, this program is set to expand further, as the local authorities wish. #PrimaryMedicalCare responds to a real need, to a medical urgency.
In conclusion, we thank everyone for their support and wish you a Merry Christmas. We encourage you to make a donation in favor of rural communities. Your contribution can make a significant difference in the lives of these individuals and help continue the life-saving work of the #PrimaryMedicalCare program.

Since December 2022, the #PrimaryMedicalCare initiative has significantly impacted ultra-rural communities in eastern Indonesia.
At the core of this program are Kawan Sehat health workers, who, with their dedication and commitment, provide unconventional medical care. This program signifies a transformative journey for these communities.
Local community agents develop strong bonds of trust with villagers, allowing them to understand and address their community’s challenges, ensuring acceptance of health practices, and gaining insight into local needs and beliefs. Fair Future teams frequently visit remote villages, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to helping the most vulnerable. These visits provide crucial support through training and resources for healthcare professionals, strengthening their skills and dedication.
Kawan Sehat health workers can enhance their capabilities beyond clinical expertise through continuing education, emphasizing patient communication, complex case management and disease prevention techniques. The program aims to prepare them to face common health problems such as infectious diseases, malnutrition and issues related to water and sanitation.
Ensuring a regular supply of medical equipment and medicines is a crucial part of the program, as it is vital to meeting the urgent healthcare needs in these isolated areas. In many communities, these resources are the only treatment alternatives available. Additionally, the program prioritizes patients’ psychosocial well-being by equipping healthcare professionals with the skills to meet their physical and emotional needs. This comprehensive strategy is crucial to achieving complete and lasting patient recovery.
The #PrimaryMedicalCare campaign is more than just a medical initiative; it is a movement of social transformation. Its goal is to improve accessibility to healthcare and develop local capacity, creating a healthier future for remote communities. This illustrates how dedication, ingenuity, and empathy can inspire meaningful and lasting progress. Our teams, including Alex, have travelled extensively to ultra-rural villages since November last year. During these visits, they met exceptional women who work in healthcare, preserving and saving lives.
