If we don’t do it, then who will?
After three days of driving, the “Truck of Life”, driven once again by Ayu and Alex, arrived at our socio-medical base camp in Rumah Kambera, East Sumba. It is loaded with medicines, medical supplies, educational tools and training materials for Kawan Sehat health workers as part of the #PrimaryMedicalCare program.
This material will be used to train new health workers to provide care to tens of thousands of people living in areas without access to medical services. It must be understood that this is an exceptional achievement because the Swiss Foundation and its Board are directly involved, and this is Unique. Without all of you, we could not have achieved this.
- World Health Organization (WHO) – Primary Health Care: For more on the importance of primary health care, which is central to the #PrimaryMedicalCare program.
- International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC): The Red Cross symbol used on our medical kits is a global sign of protection and neutrality relevant to our humanitarian efforts.
- UNICEF – Healthcare in Rural Areas: Like our mission, UNICEF focuses on bringing essential healthcare to children and families in remote areas.
