Three weeks into the malaria prevention project, East Sumba has seen real progress. The IRS campaign is complete, 20 prevention billboards are in place, and the education phase now begins. This malaria prevention project strengthens awareness, treatment, and long-term protection.
Through the Primary Medical Care program, Kawan Sehat health workers provide treatment for fevers, wounds, and malaria in villages lacking access to doctors. They carry essential medicines, adhere to established medical protocols, and refer emergency cases promptly to prevent delays in care.

Final report Hambarita reservoirs
Fair Future is pleased to release the final report of the Water Connections project in Hambarita. Over several months, eight ferrocement reservoirs were built, providing clean water to dozens of families. A serious effort, real impact, and lives transformed—thanks to all of you.
Medical Donation to RSUD Waingapu
Fair Future and Kawan Baik Foundations delivers over 40 types of medical equipment to RSUD Waingapu, the only referral hospital for 800000 people in East Sumba. This life-saving donation strengthens neonatal, surgical, diagnostic, and emergency care.
Umalulu malaria baseline turns data into action
From March to July 2025, local cadres and Puskesmas staff conducted a door to door survey in Umalulu. Across 269 households and 460 interviews, the study mapped vector control, WASH, access and behaviours. The findings deliver a practical roadmap to reduce malaria in East Sumba.

The 2,224 SolarBuddy lamps have arrived at our base in Rumakambera after six months of challenges. These lamps will transform lives, offering safe lighting, improving education, and aiding medical care in villages without electricity.
Solar lamp delay impacts remote schools
A shipping delay has pushed back the arrival of 2,224 SolarBuddy lamps in East Sumba by around 15 days. This setback disrupts our plans—but it won’t stop us. We adapt, reschedule, and continue to fight for those without light, electricity, or access to healthcare. We will be ready by June 10th.

Laindatang Drilling Halted: New Rainwater Harvesting Plan
After nine months of drilling efforts in Laindatang, Fair Future has stopped operations due to safety concerns and technical challenges. The focus is now on building a rainwater harvesting system to provide clean water to the village.
