The core focus of our program lies in the education and empowerment of communities, with a particular emphasis on raising awareness about the devastating risks of malaria.
To achieve this goal, we diligently organize informative training sessions within villages, ensuring residents know what is necessary to combat this deadly disease.
Our ultimate mission is to conduct comprehensive screening and education for every member of the population, with a special emphasis on vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, children, individuals with chronic illnesses, and those suffering from malnutrition. Our aim is to equip these high-risk individuals with the essential knowledge and tools required to safeguard themselves against the scourge of malaria.
To ensure our messages resonate widely, we employ a diverse array of communication methods. We produce educational video documentaries and broadcast radio spots programs (see the audio file bellow) that not only inform but also engage communities in meaningful discussions. Additionally, we design informative posters, including prominent signage, that provide in-depth explanations regarding who is most susceptible to malaria and why. Through these visually compelling aids, our goal is to educate communities about the telltale symptoms of malaria and underscore the critical importance of seeking timely medical care, particularly in areas with limited access to healthcare facilities.
Empowering communities with knowledge and resources is our steadfast commitment to create lasting change and reduce the prevalence of malaria in the region.
Our organization staunchly believes that training and enlightening rural communities represent the most potent and sustainable long-term approach to combat malaria in endemic regions like Sumba Timur, where the burden of this disease remains tragically high. By empowering these communities with knowledge and resources, we lay the groundwork for enduring change and a significant reduction in the prevalence of vwithin the region.
