Fair Future’s Child Protection Policy is crucial to ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of children in our humanitarian projects through responsible adult behavior.
Our commitment to leading by example includes protecting children’s rights and creating safe environments in all our projects.
Good afternoon, how are you? Over the past 15 years, Fair Future has been dedicated to protecting, supporting, and improving children’s futures in the remote areas where it operates. Today, we are formalizing this commitment through a critical document: our Child Protection Policy. Although this document is concise, it embodies the values that have guided our actions since the foundation was established.
This document is essential because children are at the core of every project we undertake, whether building water tanks, providing primary health care, or launching educational programs. As responsible adults, we must set an example, maintain high standards in our words and actions, and ensure that children grow up in a safe and nurturing environment, free from abuse and the challenges of adulthood.
Our teams pay special attention to every interaction with children at our project sites, schools, and communities where we operate. Our practices not only reflect our values but also ensure that children grow up in the best conditions, protected from forced labour, exploitation, verbal or physical violence, alcohol or tobacco consumption, and any other harmful influences.
This child protection policy is not just a theoretical framework. It requires us to consistently evaluate our practices, raise awareness among our teams and local partners, and ensure that each project and program strictly respects children’s rights. We also strive to protect their image, privacy, and ability to grow up without being exposed to inappropriate behaviour, whether it involves the use of images of children or discussions about them, emphasizing the importance of consent and respect.
In summary, this document reflects our determination to continue evolving, learning, and adapting to the needs of the communities we serve. Our commitment to children goes beyond words; it is embodied in every action we take on the ground daily.
We believe that setting an exemplary standard today will improve children’s future, so this policy remains a cornerstone of our humanitarian work. Thank you very much.
