Stories from the field
Original articles from our teams in East Indonesia
The work behind each story
Our teams write these articles from the places where we work. They document medical care, access to water, prevention, education and the practical decisions made with communities. Each story connects an observation from the field with the work needed to respond.

Learning What Belongs on the Plate

A Small Blood Sample, a Moment of Care
A mother holds her infant as our team takes a blood sample. In eastern Indonesia, malaria screening sits alongside year-round prevention. Before the rains, our Kawan Sehat workers use two illustrated posters to discuss symptoms, mosquito protection and when families need to seek care.

50 Truckloads of Sirtu Now on Site at Rumah Kambera
Fifty of 100 planned truckloads of sirtu have reached Rumah Kambera. Working from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., the team receives 25 loads daily. Two more days are expected at that pace. We will then assess whether more material is needed before levelling the 100 piles to make the surface as flat as possible.
