Fair Future and Kawan Baik Foundations are pleased to present the Primary Medical Care (PMC) Program Progress Report, covering the period from August to November 2024. This initiative provides practical and sustainable solutions to ensure that Primary Medical Care reaches thousands of people in ultra-rural areas where medical infrastructure is minimal or non-existent. Now in its third year, the programme has established itself as a fundamental part of public health in remote villages.
Healthcare for the Most Vulnerable Populations
PMC is dedicated to providing essential healthcare to all those who do not have access to healthcare, including children, pregnant women, the elderly, people with chronic diseases, and other vulnerable populations. Thanks to the rapid interventions of Kawan Sehat health workers, many serious injuries and illnesses have been treated promptly, preventing life-threatening consequences. The programme also addresses infectious diseases such as malaria and tuberculosis, as well as waterborne diseases, while also addressing acute and chronic health issues.
Kawan Sehat App: A Pillar of the Initiative
The Kawan Sehat app is a critical medical resource, allowing health workers in remote villages to share cases treated and access real-time medical guidelines, treatment protocols, and patient tracking capabilities. This Innovative and Unique App (100% developed by us) enhances their efficiency and responsiveness in the field while facilitating seamless communication with the coordination team.
Ongoing Support and Logistics
Our team provides ongoing support to Kawan Sehat workers, with Erwin, our field coordinator, leading the efforts on the ground. Every week, Erwin travels to villages on his dedicated scooter to answer workers’ questions, replenish medicines and medical supplies, and collect field reports. This ongoing support allows workers to operate independently while knowing they have reliable resources.
Medical Backpacks: How Kawan Sehat Health Workers Bring Life-Saving Resources to Thousands in Regions Without Access to Care.
Medical Backpacks and Educational Resources
Each health worker carries a custom-made medical backpack, designed by Fair Future and Kawan Baik and expertly crafted from recycled materials by an artisan in Java. The backpacks are stocked with all the essentials for emergency care and routine medical procedures—over a hundred items. In addition, hundreds of educational posters have been distributed to villages, schools, and community centres to promote awareness of hygiene, nutrition, infectious disease prevention, and healthy living practices.
The book “Kawan Sehat” is vital to the Fair Future Foundation’s mission to empower ultra-rural communities through education and health awareness. This guide covers hygiene, nutrition, disease prevention, and first aid tailored for remote areas. Designed to be accessible, it helps health agents educate families and communities about healthier lifestyles. With regular updates, it remains a key resource in our commitment to sustainable solutions for those in need.
Advancing Education and Encouraging Healthy Lifestyles
Our health workers play a vital role in transforming communities through education. They conduct interactive sessions to share essential knowledge with families about hygiene, disease prevention, and the benefits of a balanced diet. These sessions take place in schools, community centres, or outdoor spaces to improve accessibility.
These women build trust and engagement by adapting their strategies to cultural norms and local needs, motivating healthier lifestyles. Their work addresses immediate health concerns while promoting long-term habits that reduce disease prevalence, improve well-being, and empower individuals to manage their health.
This Primary Medical Care Educational Aspect is essential for breaking cycles of poor health and promoting sustainable lifestyles for future generations.

A Monumental Impact
Launched in December 2022, this program has saved numerous lives and enhanced the quality of life for countless families while establishing a strong base for sustainable community health. Primary Medical Care has demonstrated its effectiveness within the last four months by delivering tangible solutions to complex health challenges, transforming conditions in previously neglected villages.
This initiative strategically tackles the fundamental health challenges experienced by rural and underserved populations. The program has notably decreased mortality rates and improved chronic illness management by deploying “mobile clinics” and enhancing the availability of vital medical supplies along with trained Women, the Kawan Sehat Health Agents. “Healthcare access should be a right for all, irrespective of geographic or economic status,” isn’t it?
Clear and Effective Financing
From August to November 2024, we have allocated IDR 391 million (CHF 22,000) to support this crucial programme. This investment covered expenses related to the purchase of medicines, logistics management, training of health workers, and the improvement of the Kawan Sehat app. In January 2025, we will donate an additional IDR 415 million (CHF 23,150) dedicated to expanding activities and reaching new communities.
Become a Part of Creating a Better Future
This initiative depends on continued support to maintain the supply of medicines, medical equipment, training programmes, and logistics operations. By 2025, we plan to expand these efforts further to save more lives. Every contribution is crucial and directly contributes to providing sustainable healthcare solutions to those who need them most.
Working together, we can transform challenges into tangible solutions for those who rely on us for their survival.
