We provide customized support for ultra-rural communities affected by natural calamities, offering services ranging from clean water solutions to medical aid. Our resources include East Sumba’s largest Medico-Social Base Camp and the Truck of Life, ensuring that no family endures hardship by themselves. Collaborating closely with local communities and authorities, we focus on rebuilding lives and restoring hope—demonstrating that taking action can save lives.
The Natural Disasters category documents the health impact of acute natural hazards in ultra-rural settings, including floods, earthquakes, landslides, and severe weather events. Articles focus on medical consequences such as injuries, disease outbreaks, water contamination, displacement, and interruption of care. Responses are aligned with WHO emergency and disaster risk management frameworks, combining rapid medical support, water and sanitation measures, and coordination with local systems. This category highlights how timely, structured response reduces mortality, limits secondary health risks, and supports community recovery after sudden environmental shocks.
