Children can't learn effectively in darkness or when suffering from chronic infections. By electrifying schools, improving nutrition, and providing treatment for common illnesses, we create safe environments for learning and development. In this way, education acts as a shield against poverty and social exclusion.

Electrification of Mbajik School: The Movie — A New Beginning
Five days of effort to bring power to a neglected school
For five days, we worked tirelessly to complete the electrification of Mbajik School. We carried heavy equipment, wired every classroom, and stayed overnight in the village. This project brings light to 80 schoolchildren and supports daily life in a district where more than 100 schools still have no access to electricity.
This film tells the story of a village where nights were once silent and dark. Teachers prepared lessons by candlelight, and children rushed to finish their homework before sunset. Working alongside Kawan Baik Indonesia and Smart Energy Tech Bali, our teams transported nearly a ton of materials by hand. The heat was intense, the paths steep, and every step demanded resilience. The community joined the effort—lifting equipment, climbing rooftops, and learning how a modern solar system works. This project is not only about technology. It is about education, safety, dignity, and time regained.
When the system was switched on, everything changed. Classrooms lit up for the first time. Teachers could work after sunset. Families experienced reliable lighting in their daily lives. The project also marked a historic moment for Haray: the village’s first cinema night. Children and elders watched films projected on a screen, powered entirely by the new solar installation.
This is one school. More than 100 others in East Sumba remain without electricity. Our objective is clear: to replicate this model wherever it is needed.

This film shows the reality on the ground. The section below shows what action makes possible.
Support here is more than symbolic; it delivers electricity to a remote school, transforming darkness into a tool for learning, safety, and dignity.
Electricity isn’t mere comfort—it’s vital infrastructure that sustains education, health, and essential services like lighting, refrigeration, and communication.
Our programmes focus on creating durable systems in the most challenging conditions, enabling teams to act early and build long-term community resilience. It’s steady, field-driven work that enhances education and safeguards health.
Secure. Transparent. Field-based.
Support education and essential infrastructure
Every contribution supports essential infrastructure in remote villages. Electricity for schools and health posts, solar-powered lighting, refrigeration for medicines, safe learning environments, and systems that allow education and care to continue after dark.
