Kawan Sehat health workers tirelessly serve remote rural villages, providing vital healthcare services and administering medications.
Equipped with comprehensive first aid kits, they address various illnesses and injuries with compassion and expertise.
The Primary Medical Care program is based on the dedication of Kawan Sehat health workers in remote rural villages where access to medical care is nearly non-existent. These photos recognize their hard work.
Thanks to this unique medical program, these brave and strong women have become prominent figures in their ultra-rural communities. They provide health care, administer medications, disinfect dressings, put eye drops, apply ointments, and offer advice, often by the light of a flashlight in the dark, to people of all ages suffering from various illnesses or injuries.
Each has an extensive first aid kit, including nearly a hundred different medical articles and materials, medicinal products, ointments, eye drops, etc. This is a significant aspect of the program, which is improving the lives of these ultra-rural communities.
These health workers received training as part of the primary medical care program and have saved lives where access to care is non-existent or too complicated for two years. This program is also Fair Future’s response to the severe shortages of medicines affecting all health centres in the Far East of Indonesia.
Without these individuals, thousands of patients they treat each year would not be able to recover due to lack of access to the health centre. These ten images showcase their remarkable work, demonstrating their extraordinary job in one of the poorest regions of Southeast Asia.
We cordially invite all captivated by this story to explore our photo gallery, witness this extraordinary effort, and further engage with our mission through our Instagram account.
